Beautiful Sunday and Sublime Sunday - New Year in Thailand - Songkran Festival !!
At the moment Thailand is in party mode it is New Year for Thailand which is referred to as Songkran it's a Festival known as the water festival starting from the 13th April till 16th of April and today was another day of water fight activities taking place right around Thailand.
Songkran for the Thai people is celebrated by the soaking , pouring water over each other or taking to the streets and everyone has a huge massive water fight with either big high pressure water guns or buckets of water.
Why celebrate in this why well the Thai people believe that the soaking of water will wash away all the negativity from the year before so the soaking or pouring of the water symbolizes washing away the bad luck and sins from a persons life.
As April is the hottest month of the year it works out perfect for this New Year water festival you will get foreigners coming from all around the globe to come and engage with this new year water festival in Thailand and as you can see they really get into it by engaging water frights amongst themselves all in good fun of course.
Their will be no escape of getting soaked if you come into these areas at this time of the year be prepared to cope it sweet or stay home as they say. These kids for me were the highlight of the day they were at it all day soaking everyone possible including having several water fights amongst themselves they were very entertaining to watch.
And the entertainment just kept going on with these kids there was no giving up one for one...lol :)
This poor Thai girl had no chance but she was not giving up she must have a lot of sins to be washed of her....haha :)
This girl come over from the other side of the road to steal over water but she didn't escape without coping a shoot in the head...lol :)
Not ever the buses will escape without a soaking it would be like coming through a bus wash for them.
I had to laugh at this guy he picked the wrong day to be riding his bicycle down this road he thinks he might get lucky but no way he got hammered well he should have good luck for a few years.
Then their is always the the Ladyboy's that will come out and give you a bit of a show by doing the beauty parade , they are always a laugh and good on them for joining the fun.
I will say even though these festivals are fun you really need to come properly geared up with protective eye glasses or face mask or both , with so many people shooting water out of them high pressure water guns you get hit in the eye it can cause some serious damage to your eye.
This is way the police come around to warn people to be careful and be sensible they want to see people having a good time and avoiding injuries. The day ended very well it was a great event to be part all wet as a fish we all headed home for a nice clean warm shower.

Really you have never seen this it happens in a lot of Asian countries look up Songkran Festivals on youtube.com you will have a laugh...me i was totally soaked luckily it's hot weather :)
haha! yes sir hangin it's a perfect holiday tradition for the hot weather, it's great and they have some really nice water guns over there!
Certainly the right time of the year for it to fall on and yep some of them water guns are pretty damn dangerous if they hit you in the eye high pressure...lol.

Well this all looks superb fun, although getting soaked through going anywhere is just another week in the UK.
You captured some perfect photos, especially the photos water streams literally hitting people! I’m surprised you got away with taking any photos - did you have a waterproof camera!

Yeah getting soaked in the UK would be almost a everyday thing just not enough sunshine gets over there i will have to FedEx some sunshine over to you we have more then enough over here ....lol :)
I was using my new Samsung A9 which is waterproof and it handled it well capturing some of them shots.
