A Long Awaited Walk!

Winter holidays have already passed. Preparations for the holidays, the holidays themselves were very time-consuming. The usual program, normal life was overwhelmed.

During all this period of almost a month, I missed the walk, the movement. That's why I was glad today, we resumed the old habit of crossing Herastrau Park, the bigger and nicer park in Bucharest. Bucharest is, as most people know, the capital of Romania.

This winter is very strange. It started much earlier than usual, we thought we would be buried in the snow, but now it looks like a late autumn, with more cold nights.

The park, although the trees have been left without leaves, is wonderful. The day is the same, serene and with a very pleasant light.

It would seem that everyone woke up because of the unusual time of pleasure. They went out for a walk, they took the dogs out to move, enjoy.

I really can not believe it is winter. Some are walking their dogs, other dogs walking alone ...

The lake has a thin ice cap, the sun reflects on it with brilliance.

Birds rest on thin ice. Another anomaly to signal. Even though Bucharest is 200km away from the sea, the lakes around are full of seagulls! This has been going on for many years, and it seems to me that it is not normal. I think it's a signal given by the nature that we, people, have wronged something, modified something that should not have.

There are places where water is not covered by ice. Ducks are happy to have somewhere to swim and look for food, of course. When the whole lake freezes, the ducks have a lot of trouble finding food. People are trying to feed them, but they don't succeed at all.

That's how I spent a beautiful afternoon in the park. Was awesome. I had forgotten the feeling of fatigue after the walk.

It was a beautiful Sunday and even sublime because of the unexpected warm weather for this time of the year.
