A Beautiful Lie: To keep the hope alive

in #beatiful-lie6 years ago (edited)

Rama, a sweet, a chubby chirpy and very cute child of Madhav and Jaya, She lives on the outskirts of the city with her mother in a shack. With a torn cloth she always wears a gorgeous smile on her face, why not, she is the little princes to her mother. No doubt they are poor, and Rama smile is the only source of Jaya's happiness.

Jaya is the only bread earner who use to work as maid in big city bungalows . Every morning she goes in the city and came back in the evening. Rama always use to accompany her mother to the bungalows.

She never took on the chores of the work, but she use to roam in the bungalow or, she use to sit outide in the big green lawn and use to gaze at the richness of the people whosoever visit the place. The clean cloth the big cars is what always fascinated her. Coming to the bungalows was her daily routine and also excites her, and going back in the evening what she always dislikes.

One day, on her way back Rama quickly asked her mother, why she cannot afford to stay in such big houses. And lead a luxurious life??

The Pretty soft mind of Rama, still not grown to understand of the richness and poorness discrimination in the society. Her mother got bit speechless for the moment. However she managed to avoid the question, they reached their home, in evening, a small one room shack, with a mud stove at one corner, and a wooden cot in another corner. Her mother could not afford much more than this.

It was totally different from the what Rama used to see in the bungalow daily. After the dinner, both went to the only cot in her hut. Rama, on her sweet mom lap was not ready to give up so easily, she prompted the same question again. This time, her mother could not evade the question and told that "her father went to Dubai to earn more money, so that they can afford such big houses. Once he will return, they will go to their own Big Bungalow".

Hearing this, Rama happily closed her eyes and went to her wonderland. No doubt her mother was lying to her. This is not the first time she has evaded such question of her child by taking aside her father name.

Madhav was an alcoholic and left them years ago when Rama was born. Reason being Jaya given birth to a Girl child.

What else she could tell the little princess ? Rama is only 10 years old and it is too early to let her know the bitter truth of being a girls in the harsh society. (Seriously it was a concern that everyone needs to take care.)

Nonetheless, Jaya always get unanswered with little princess question and every time she uses to tell a beautiful lie by taking Madhav name…… just to keep the gorgeous smile alive on the little princes face which give her power to fight and survive.

💚THE END 💚

This is my submission to @inuke story contest Link.

@inuke , as promised , i made a quick one. :) hope it make some sense, although, it is kind of true story , hopefully i narrated it better.
I do not wanted to end here...Lets keep some open conversation on it...

Lets Discuss …. Is Jaya is right by keeping Madhav alive in Rama's mind, or she should have told her the bitter truth ?

Thanks
