Basic Attention Token price is on a free fall after Coinbase added it
Basic Attention Token was recently added to coinbase pro and coinbase. After the news of coinbase addition, the price of BAT token increased significantly.
It reached 37 cents per BAT after which the price took a large dip to 30 cents. At the time of writing this post, BAT was trading at 27 cents according to coinmarketcap data.
BAT and Brave recently added a new youtube tipping feature but the new addition didn't have any noticeable impact on the price. A BAT developer / team member explained how this new feature would work in a reply to a reddit thread:
Tips are actually in fact instant and not just earmarked as part of your monthly contributions. (Monthly recurring tips are a different story, but one-time donations actually are instant.) One of our Product Managers confirmed this to me as I was initially under the same impression.
In fact, a signal is apparently shot off directly to the BAT Ledger server the moment a one-time tip is made. It still takes 7-10 days (or some other delay) for the tip to ultimately settle in the publisher's dashboard for other reasons (the Uphold wallet infrastructure), but the "vote" is actually registered immediately.
Furthermore, we're bringing a feature where when you tip, you'll be able to (a) tweet the fact that you did, and (b), we'll be able to, from our own server or service, officially attest to this tip immediately (given the immediate signal to the BAT Ledger server).
