U.S. Presidential Candidate Andrew Yang Joins Manna Basic Income Project
Manna, the basic income project on the blockchain, had just announced that they're welcoming a new advisor to their team. U.S. presidential candidate for the democratic party, Andrew Yang, has just joined Manna's advisory board. His election campaign for 2020 also features commitment to universal basic income, with a proposal to implement a basic income in the U.S. of $1.000 per month.
Manna co-founders Eric Stetson and Brandon Venetta met with Yang last month at a blockchain conference in New York. Now, one month later they've announced that Yang will be joining them.
Andrew Yang has a background in business and founded Venture for America, a nonprofit with a mission to empower future entrepreneurs. His campaign for the 2020 presidential election proposes the implementation of a "freedom dividend", as a response to the increasing technological unemployment rates.
Manna has sent out an e-mail with this announcement to all Manna basic income recipients. You can read the full email in this Steemit post that the Manna team released.
I'm not going to comment on the competence of Andrew Yang, I think this is something that everybody needs to investigate for themselves. It can't be denied that it could offer Manna some valuable exposure, making it attractive for outside investors. Given that the Manna project is still in a very early stage, this is something that could give it a much needed boost. I'm always excited when basic income in general gets some attention from news outlets, so let's hope this story gets picked up.

It's interesting that we've got a candidate who's technically informed, we'll see how he does. As you say, at least it will bring UBI and Manna, specifically, further into the public consciousness.
I got the email over the weekend and while I didn't have time to read it fully, I recognized how exciting this could be. It will be interesting to see if this gives manna a boost!

Manna ideology is to change the world positively by reducing poverty and improving the standard of life for everyone . I am happy to hear that an influential personality has join and identify himself with the project @daan
