According to whatsup Steemit is powering down completely.

About 6 months ago the Steemit account had 48,836,133 Steem and Steem power. Now it has about 35,478,735 Steem and Steem power. A loss of about 10,356,398 Steem.
6 months ago the Steem account had 11,185,763 Steem/Stem Power and now has about 11,417,498 combined and it is not powering down.
Misterdelegation had 17,544,267 and now has 18,916,658.
I assume Steemit Inc should at least be able to keep running a year if not 2 or 3 unless the price tanks.

the power down has stopped
Yeah it looks like they switched it to a partial powerdown.
I wouldn't believe it even if the power downs hadn't stopped. I have no clue where the Steem price will end up but one assumes that 30 - 40 cents isn't close to the top end.
Hopefully it goes to the moon someday. I think if Steemit wasn't selling Steem the price would be a lot higher.
This is old/(fake?) news and it has been discussed at lenght in numerous posts and discussion forums (including Steemit Inc themselves).
