P.O.Tassium apologizes for graphic nature of last week's post

We are a Collective, and we let each one have their say.

Yet some of the more sensitive bananas in the bunch were disturbed by this post presented last week by one of the newest members of the bunch, Dr. Victor Frankenpeel.

He announced the creation of a Super-Banana, which he calls a...

STEEMNANA

The photos he used of piecing together his super banana were quite graphic and, frankly, a little upsetting to some of the bunch.

I personally, as the Publisher of The Banana Memos, would like to apologize for any discomfort Dr. Frankenpeel's post caused... while at the same time re-stating the mission of this blog, which is to give each member of the Banana Collective a place to raise their voice, and to bring Truth to light, one banana memo at a time.

Tassium, over and out.

I am an. American but I live in the Philippines. Firstly I did not know bananas are considered a berry. I grow on my little farm 6 or more varieties of bananas. Some of the banana trees produce over 100 bananas in a crop. I just got my first crop of a small banana that is white inside. The locals call it tundan. I grow one that the peeling is red and the bananas are quite large amd very sweet. Currently I have 8 trees with fruit hanging on them. Soon it will be harvest for some. We also eat the red flower. The leaves are great as a quick umbrella. They are also used for plates or to wrap food. After harvesting the fruit, the tree is cut down and fed to my neighbor’s animals. Nothing goes to waste. Even yesterday I was eating a nice curry dish. Carrots, onions, potatoes, taro, green beans, ochre, green papaya and banana. Very tasty!

Wow! That is a LOT of information we didn't know about bananas!

Excuse me, but I knew these facts about bananas. I am, after all, an esteemed professor at Bruisington University. hmmph

Alright... Well, anyway, thank you for all that information, @mhm-philippines! We are following you now, in case you post any photos of bananas or banana palms. Please tag us if you do, so that we're sure to see it and give it an upvote.

Thank you so much! I did a post on bananas a month ago. When what I have get ripe, there will be more to follow. I am excited as my first Lacatan bananas are fruiting at this time. Pictured below. These are very sweet and very yellow inside.

It will be nice to see when those Lacatans are ripe, seeing the yellow flesh inside. Please post photos when they're ready!

@mhm-philippines I love to make and eat ze curry dishes. But, zut alors!, I have never put bananas in a curry dish. Sounds tres magnifique! Do you use green or ripe bananas? Are they cooked, or added after the dish is done? (Same question for the green papaya.)

Merci beaucoup!
