Entry for Artstorm Contest #34 - Childhood Memories
Hey, guys! What’s up? :D
When I was a child, I watched TV a lot so I've an infinite number of series in my mind. Then, as I grew up, I became an anime fan (Japanese cartoons) I even saw a compilation video on Youtube where many intros of the 90's series appeared. It made me feel nostalgic so I wanted to make a drawing about the first anime series that I saw.
It name is Shin-chan and it was created by Yoshito Usui in 1990. The author died in 2009 and in 2010, his team continued with the series to the present.
The series is about the daily life of a child called Shin-chan. In my opinion, he's totally crazy, haha. He was extremely naughty and witty. He always got into trouble and he's definitely the center of attention.
This was so funny for me that's why I died for watching this series. My sister and I always begged our mother to let us sleep later so we could see it on a channel called Jetix and now it's known as Disney XD. The program was broadcast after 9pm and we had to be in school the next day at 7am, but I didn't mind sleeping only a few hours just to see it, haha.
You and your sister are terrific anime artists @arthuntress, should have known friend! Good luck dear❣️
Thank you so much for the support you always give us, grandma <3
You are welcome dear❣️
I never met Shin Chan before. We have a series called 'Horrid Henry'. The author might have got the idea from Shin Chan.
I understand your drawing now. At first, I thought, 'Who on earth is that?', haha.
Shin-chan is an old series like Dragon ball and Pokemon, but is not as popular as them.
It's the first time in my life that I hear about Horrid Henry, haha. The drawing style reminds me of the 'Caillou' series :P
