A Day at the Museum D'Orsay -- Traveling Through Paintings #5

in #art5 years ago (edited)

Welcome on a tour through one of the most amazing art exhibitions in Paris!

Actually, there are almost too many museums to count there; and if you are fortunate to visit Paris one day you should plan plenty of time for discovering the world of art!

The museum I am inviting you to today is Museé d'Orsay 😊

Museé d'Orsay resides in a very large hall which was originally a train station. Now it is rebuilt into a museum and houses one of the most famous paintings from Van Gogh to Monet and Renoir (just to name a few), but houses also statues and several intriguing art collections.

Come walk with me as we travel through the many paintings 👩‍🌾

With its soothing yellow it was similar to a magnet, dwelling in a field of attraction for foreigners who would walk on this road and meet its builders. These people must be traders I thought, and I wondered what I would see in the days to come...

The road didn't really take me in any particular direction. It turned left and right, up and down, and sometimes it was perfectly straight for miles. I walked towards the east and west, the north and the south, so that I sometimes wondered if I was going in circles. But there was no fork along the way. And so I just kept moving.

The landscape started to change with the trees getting smaller until there were only little scrubs which soon gave away to ever larger fields of grass. There were many types of grass: short and long bushels, green and yellow bushels, hairy and smooth bushels and even grass that was so tall that they could have been mistaken for small trees.

Yet the softness at which I had marveled at some days ago was still permeating these lands. The hills moved ever softer through the scenery, and disappeared behind more and even softer hills in the distance before being hulled in a violet-blue hue which could have been mistaken for a great ocean.

Between all of this there was a house of which I could only make out the roof. Going there of course meant to leave the road, but I was thirsty and my stomach was surely looking forward to some food, so I decided to step into the fields and explorer the country side.
