Taj Mahal-crown of the palace
Taj Mahal means "Crown of the Palace".
It is made up of ivory white marble located on the south bank or river Yamuna in the city of Agra (India).
Taj mahal is among the seven wonders of world and it was built by Ustad Ahmad Lahuri and Ustad Isa.
Taj mahal was commissioned by Shah Jahan (Mughal Emperor) in the memory of his wife Mumtaaz.
Taj mahal is a sign of great art work and love.
The construction of Taj mahal started in 1632 and it took them 21 years to complete the mausoleum.
Some people say that Shah Jahan cut the hands of the artists who built The Taj but that is just a folklore.
20000 labourers were required to build The Great Taj.
Taj mahal attracts around 7-8 million tourists from around the world every year.
Taj mahal is regarded as the best example of Mughal architecture.
It was designated as world heritage site in 1983.
Taj mahal is in the middle of a guest house and a mosque.
Sayings of "Quran" are written on the walls when you step inside The Taj.
Despite environmental and political threats Taj is still standing strong and let's hope it stands till the mankind is standing.

You can feel the beauty of Taj only when you see it in front of your eyes. It's just mesmerizing.
Marvellous post about Taj...It is said that The entrance of TAJ was decorated with embedded Diamonds and Precious gems, but they got stolen during the Era of East India Company. And Taj used to lit the entire surroundings during the Full Moon night owing to its full milky white Marble Architecture, however, with age and Pollution along with acid rains the colour of Taj has faded. Nowadays, Taj is again seen in news due to some Political Reasons. Lets hope whatever happens Taj comes out to be strong as it always has been; be it Time, Environmental changes, Weather of Industrialisation, or Even Politics.
