pointless pebble portrait painting project, parts ten, eleven, twelve, post four of five
As the day turns into night and the cow turns into burgers,
these are the ways without life
whatever that line is supposed to mean.
Does it really matter?
If a post is posted on steemit and has no views, does the post still exist.
I have been putting up the scotty's stone daily series, so here is the penultimate part of that (for the moment)
It's a recurring project, so I am sure it'll be round agian.
I have come in and out of the stone trance.
I did a lot in 2004
Those ones can be seen at the linked page, sticks and stones on my website.
I have already posted an artist's statement for these works, that's the newer works.
and the first three in the series
and the next three in the series, four to six
and the next three, numbers seven to nine
Now without further ado, here are the forth group of three stones, and their respective texts from Saatchi, that were written on the day.
I am much more suited to working for two years and then having to produce the goods all at once.
This daily thing really gets to me, some days are diamonds, but some days suck balls badly.
I haven't edited the texts from there, just a couple of typos that I caught after all this time.

day ten of the pointless pebble portrait project up, and no sign of slowing down.
haha. What a liar!
not able to fit them into the day, I have been working through the night.
I am still to try and sleep, so will probably go and lie horizontal for some hours real soon.
This one also, as with last night, wasn't really unpainting, as it stains too much. This is Sennelier La Aquarelle (watercolour) Opera Rose, on acrylic gesso on coloured Art card. All quality materials, needs to be framed under glass for display. Keywords: pppp, realism, rock, piedra, stone, roca, sds, ssd, fuscia, unpainting, opera rose

Mediums: Watercolor, Acrylic
Day eleven

I thought this was supposed to get easier, but I suppose I am just tired. Almost missed completely, as I started another one, found that the combo of the stone and the pigment I had chosen was not good, and started this one. (the other one is on hold)
Then couldn't get this one to work either, for the longest time. In the end it is another that has gone over to next day.
Maybe it won't be daily, just a serving suggestion.
But it should have come together with less struggle, and to better result. All this burning the candle at both ends has its drawbacks.
Only day 11 and it's only the trial version. I am seriously thinking I will not be able to make it. I suppose that will turn around. They are going to look good all hanging together, if I get that chance.

no matter how long you work on one of these (and when I say you I mean me, so I) when you scan them and look at them on the big screen there's always things that could be improved. Today's is no exception. I wonder if I'll ever be satisfied with any of these.
Day twelve of the trial period for scotty's stone daily. I don't now what to say, except to note that it already feels Sisyphean, appropriately enough.
Sisyphus, for those who don't know was condemned by the gods (for various crimes against their order, including he chaining of death) to roll a heavy stone up a mountain, only to have it roll right back down again.
Albert Camus wrote of the Sisyphean myth, and it's a good read. Reading it just now http://dbanach.com/sisyphus.htm
has cheered me up no end, to my no end in sight task. Well, mine does have an end, it just seems far off from here.
Absurdity reigns.

There is some work for sale at Saatchi online gallery
and a Redbubble print on demand shop
and a fabric and wallpaper shop on Spoonflower too although many of the designs are still not available for sale.

Blame it on the sunshine,

Man I love this!!! I can't believe I missed your parts 1-3 lol. Been crazy busy with work stuff (odd jobs & whatnot + scheming on bigger thangs.) These pebble portraits are so whimsical, minimal, and aesthetically pleasing. It's an awesome thing. Now read your discord messages and join Steemfollower so I can cast my temporary-nearly-whaleish black majick upon thy post rewards!
yes, I will.
I hope to talk with you soon so you can explain what I need to do, but I'll sign up already using your link, that'll make it easier
Thanks for coming by, and I am just thinking to myself about searching you out, and I see this comment.
Sorry I have been disconnected a lot. If you look in my room on discord, you'll see the latest problem child
I have done that now, I have signed up using the link you put here

I so appreciate and feel the struggle and burden you put on yourself . I do this to myself often and set unobtainable targets just to end up not making them 100 %. I dont feel we doing wrong onto ourselves as long as we use this method of madness to motivate ourselves to do better and greater things and not get discouraged by our failings and shortcomings. We need to push and push as hard as we can if we want to reach true bliss in our own success.
I end up not even making them 10% most of the time lately.
Although the previous one to this one, I made it to 1/7th of the way to completion.
Thanks for the moral support.
I sometimes doubt the push push approach, depends how you interpret the data.
Maybe a free energy machine would be better
We gonna figure out this free energy machine and give it to the world
These are really beautiful. I think the top one with the sticks and stones words is my personal favourite.
thanks @thecryptofiend, I have found words coming into my work more and more, and then words here on steemit seem to threaten to overwhelm and replace the artwork itself.
That drawing is from about two years ago, but although I still have it, I 'destroyed' it with a timing error in the process of hinging it for framing.
Made it badly warped, and then tried to do voodoo to fix it and made it far worse.
we live and learn.
Thanks for the kind comment
It happens sadly.
