Psychedelic Lizard (WIP)
Viviparous lizards (Lacerta vivipara)
Tomorrow I set up the video camera and show you how I develop detail and depth with color pencil. Right now I have to start getting the chickens ready for canning.
Yesterday I figured out the color scheme for the lizard and today I added second layer of colors and shadows. I found out ink goes over colored pencil really well. No beading and the waterproof ink stains the wax, it doesn't bead and rub off!
I thought I would finish this piece up yesterday but my meeting with Scotfest took up most of my free time and today I had to butcher our old laying hens. I spent most of the morning skinning and gutting the old hens out. I am now cooking up the carcasses for canning and bone broth for this winter.
Hope your week is productive Steemians!
I was browsing through my home stream here on Steemit a week ago and saw this amazing photograph catching the details of lizard scales. I went into bliss, yeah I am weird that way, I love details, especially if they have to do with patterns. I love drawing details, I leave time and everyday thoughts and just draw, like I am the pen and paper.

wooowww that is pretty amazing great job done
how how how ? which magic ? :P
now this one is worth $$$$$$$$$$$ sell it <3
I will list a price with this one, I will have to do some research on price though.
We have a mushroom here in America that grows in our pastures, it's called the magic mushroom and will take anyone who ingests it on a psychic trip. I took it once back in late 1970s and the trees in our woods spoke to me and I could hear the stars in the night sky singing. All the colors became very bright in the sunlight and I laughed a lot. I don't like to trip much though, I have enough trips just dealing with life as is....
1970 ? hahaha i wasnt even in liquid form i think :P
No just dried mushrooms, we can go out in our pastures and pick the shrooms. They are common in rural Oregon.
i am talking about myself xD not about mushrooms :P :D btw
did u checked out dresses ? there designs are also beautiful :) on my wall
yes I will check, lololol, the 70s were a long ago in a land lost in time....now we are a digital world.
Right :D

8-)
Its mum wouldn't recognise it, but like it!
I think there is something in the water, probably pollution, all the eggs hatched pastel lizards. lololol
This is simply wonderful!
Thank you @Kalemandra, I changed the colors so my friends here on steemit wouldn't be too grossed out by lizards. So many people have a hard time looking at lizards, snakes, and spiders, which are some of my favorite art subjects.
Coming along very nicely. I like seeing the progress you are making on the piece. Great work!
I haven't used colored pencils for a long time and my hands start aching after an hour of layering, I think I am getting old....sigh...hahaha
intresting color choose little bis remains psichedelic artwork , beautifull :)
This lizard is out of this world for sure @allabout!
So it isn't entirely finished yet right? And the first picture looks a lot brigther than the second one, is it a different stage or was that just due to the camera? Anyways, this might be my favourite one I'v seen of you so far :D
This piece isn't finished yet, hopefully tomorrow if my calendar is telling me the truth! I thought I would finish up yesterday but I forgot I have other activities that take away from my drawing schedule. Just like with watercolor one can layer colors adding to brightness, shadow, highlights, and depth.
Interesting choice ot colors.
My mothers colors @alktoni, thank you for stopping by my blog.
Your color blending under the lizard is amazing. My favorite aspect is the streaks of orange and the eyes - you did a great job.
That's complementary coloring, the orange pops near the bluish purples. We are attracted to complementary color schemes, so I am kind of playing with human behavior...hehehe....thank you @lydon.sipe
Haha, a coloring counselor indeed. You're welcome @reddust.
The drawing look amazing @reddust. very realistic.
Thank you, the colors are not very realistic though....hahaha
