Steemy Snowflake (WIP)
Color Work
I stretched some watercolor paper today for another painting I am starting. I am definitely going to buy a staple gun because taping wet paper to my drawing board to stretch it so it won't buckle is not working for me!
I was able to sit down for a couple hours and totally got lost in detail work on my "Steemy Snowflake." Hopefully after I spend tomorrow reading and writing I will be able to finish my snowflake before it melts!
Plus I just found out I have a paper to turn in on some course work I am doing called "Bringing the Mind to Rest." I am not ready so I have been cramming! It's Tibetan study of shamatha and vipasyana, I've been waiting so long to learn how the Buddhist Tibetan calm abiding and insight system works. My training is through Satipatthana Burmese teaching of Vipassana and anapanasati. I've been diving into a several books, "Ocean of Definitive Meaning" by Ninth Karmapa and "Mahamudra: The Moonlight," by Dakpo Tashi Namgyal

This is gorgeous and definitely deserves @originalworks!
@dakini5d
@dakini5d, you are so kind, thank you so much!
Your attention to detail is really incredible, by showing step by step how you work its apparent how much work uour put into your art. The results always how it's worth it
I love detail as you know @dandesign86, thank you for spending a little time visiting me. I appreciate all the people who stop by my blog even when I am off in the land of my imagination I think of you all and hope you are doing well.
Amazing... its still has an indigenous dream catcher type of look too it. I always tell people drawing can be a type meditation because you don't feel time passing by.lol
@newyorkdude, we are in some kind of samadhi all day long. You know where you are focused on something and don't notice anything else. In the Buddhist system there is right concentration. The mind is relaxed but narrowly focused without any kind of negativity. I haven't reached that level in my painting. But I can use the discipline I learned in retreat to sit through all the mind and body stuff that goes with intense painting sessions. Painting is like running and both are like meditation in a way...
I wonder if enlightenment can be reach through a magnificent painting. that will be amazing to achieve.
beautiful STEEM POWER MANDALA !
OMG, it is a Steemit Mandala....hahaha <3
This is one painting I can't help with.
I can't tell where you are going with the colors, nor where you are going to put highlights/crystal edge shines into it.
I feel I will really like it, but this is one of those rides that I feel blindfolded and don't know the destination. (which is an unusual feeling for me.)
Keep us posted, and I will keep upvoting.
I feel the same way, so lets just sit back and enjoy the ride. I think I got the flow today even with the kids bouncing off my studios walls.
I do not know what you're doing with colors, but this is imagination in practice @reddust
This is all imagination. It is my favorite kind of work, no one to tell me how to do something. A blank sheet of paper and my imagination are true freedom. Thank you @dobartim.
Thank you for exellent art @reddust
Great work, still completing yet @reddust. Wow are studying Vipassana and anapanasati meditation. I have been done Anapanasati before 15 years now, Bcoz I`m Buddhist. Nice to see you there.
I find focusing on the breath for a meditation object the easiest for me. But lot's of people say the natural breath is the most difficult meditation object because it is too subtle for our coarse modern mind. Now I get to see how visualization, deities, vase breathing all tie into developing a stable mind and insight. I learned Vipassana through SN Goenka's centers, which is kinda like a Vipassana boot camp. It's tough...I completed my first retreat back in 1993. I am a Buddhist as well, a redneck American Buddhist lololol
Wow...I am glad to hear it. Yeah.. breath meditation object will be easiest for everyone.
As my mind, natural breath is the most easiest meditation position. But therefore require best quality place. it mean calm & most silence place for our mind clear.
Painting is very difficult task, doing it very smoothly and need to waste much time. I know you will do fascinating this art work. Last one of past of your tree & skull i saw.
I have grandkids and my dog jumping all over my workroom today...I can't believe I actually was able to sit through all the ruckus and paint....hahaha
beutifull artwork @reddust :) reminds me an album whos spinning on my devices in these days. enjoy :)
I have this music too! We have the same taste in music @alabout. Nice of you to stop by and say hello.
My pleasure to come in your garden to shake (or kiss lol ) your hand :D . Here is a first reason why im returning now in steemit :) Your 100% right good waves of psychedelic gendres always gives a positive energy of they own :) i like it, its BEST than any other stuff whos can take out from this reality :)
@allabout, we are going through more beta testing on Steemit's economic system. There is going to be a lot of intense discussions for a while and I find all this intensely interesting. One of the reasons I joined Steemit was to study economic systems in action through cryptocurrency and getting paid to be social....Bernie Sanders always gets all upset and charges around Steemit like a Bull in a china shop...sigh...
lol, lots of ''old school djs'' are crazy now how to charge everything on crypto, especially in usa.. steemit has lots of mystics so am not shure who realy is steemit, or other ponzi shit or paradigm shift? I can smell here''decentralyzed control system'' and my fucking flair saying, what even devs are cheating here.
Stellabella is looking for good writers to call out individuals and groups gaming the system in a professional way if I remember correctly. Take a look at her blog, she may be able to help you focus your research.
It's almost finished !!! I love the balance between the colors, the care that you give to all the details, a true success to have colored it, I'm still waiting for the final result
The color scheme is simple, blue and white...hahaha. The difficult part is where do I want to put the dark and light blues to make the patterns stand out and exactly how do I want those patterns to stand out. Thank you @eleyda78
