Winter portraits
As I was sitting in my studio tonight I looked out the window as the sun was setting. The beautiful silhouettes of the trees stood strong against the glowing embers of the day. I decided to draw.
I was unsure what my drawing would be. I looked through my sketchbook and I came across two backgrounds I had prepared in green and blue, so I felt there should be an element of nature and cold to the pieces. I started with a continuous line drawing. I like using this technique as it forces me to loosen up my style and adjusts the way I think when drawing. The technique gives me an original result that can then be developed and refined further, if needed. I've used the continuous line drawing technique before, one example being my Green Man drawing. Summer has now gone, maybe it's time for a taste of winter?

My example of continuous line drawing, the process has been speeded up.

Uh, I love continuous line drawing. Thanks for reminding me.
Maybe you should try to put the portraits in the freezer and see what happens.
I was thinking of placing outside under glass. But the freezer would be easier!
cool
❄️Icy cool!❄️
Great capture of that UFO in the dusk photo
Yes, it looks just like a lightbulb- those crafty UFO's!
It is easy to sit and watch a beautiful sunset, it is difficult to hold the images to make it into the paper, but that you lady @opheliafu makes it look simple.
Congratulations on your innate skills.
Sunsets are glorious, I would love to capture their beauty in a painting.
continuous line, looks like good ideas for wire sculptures
Oh yes, it works very well for wire. I've had groups making wire portraits before. You can start straight into using the wire or draw the portrait first and then bend the wire around the drawings lines.
Very nice :)
Thank you. I've been making angels today too!
Ohhh I will take that as a sign popping over too see :)
Sorry thought you meant you had been painting more :)
I have posted them yet.
I an waiting lol :)
I love the idea of expanding on them! Maybe even put them out for a collaborative effort too!
