Time to sell my precious things.

in #art8 years ago (edited)

I love creating and making art, but I can also be a bit of a hoarder of my art too. They are my precious things. Just call me Gollum!

Giving away some of these precious things at SteemFest to other Steemians was a real motivator for me to start to let go of some of my other artwork and allow them to find new homes.

Over the past couple of weeks I have been preparing for a small art stall at a local Christmas fair. I thought I should take this small leap after reading @storyseeker's posts. @storyseeker made a series of inspirational posts about making money with your art- Make Money With Your Art: Fairs and Festivals - Part 5 of 5.

I've been preparing work and framing work.

Making signs

Buisness cards too!

My stall on Saturday looked very pretty and I had fun running it. I've started off small, but feel pretty confident towards the next art and craft fair I decide do.

Selling online

After talking to @steemrollin at SteemFest last week I've become even more excited about Peerhub and it's growing potential within the Steemit community. I've started to sell my work on Peerhub and I will be building up my online catalogue of work for sale over the coming weeks!

I hope you did well and I am absolutely certain that you will go from strength to strength, a combo of your amazing art and cheeky charm can't fail!!! ;o)

Cheeky charm? I don't know what you mean! 😁

Good luck. I suggest cross posting product on OpenBazaar as well, seems would be good for more visibility.

I see it's Bitcoin based, interesting. Thank you for the tip. At the moment my focus is with Peerhub as I want to support Steem, but it's always great to find new market places!

I believe there is more value in taking your items on the Bitcoin marketplace and have those transactions converted into Steem rather than just take more Steem from other Steem users on Peerhub. By getting the Bitcoin customers you are adding value in a very direct way to the Steem as you transfer their coin into Steem or SBD. I had actually made a post before on how to take Steem on OpenBazaar https://steemit.com/steemit/@cryplectibles/openbazaar-takes-steem-list-your-art-or-garage-sale-items-now I have things listed on Peerhub and OpenBazaar and have only sold items on OpenBazaar.

Ah yes, I understand what you are saying there.

Good luck with the art stall!

I had it on Saturday- I've just edited the post as I didn't make that clear. Doh!
I'm now going to be looking towards future events I can participate in.

It's a great time of the year, Christmas is coming! Good luck!

Congratulations for what you have just undertaken, you will have many successes for several reasons, your work is very good, you lady @opheliafu is a good person, is condemned to success

Thank you, you are always very supportive of my work. I appreciate it.

Your work is so pretty, love them in the white frames too! Good luck with your sales.

Thank you @sunscape, cyanotypes always look nicer with a crisp white frame I think.

Way to go! Good luck and much success!

I need to be working on my Peerhub offerings too. I've got ideas. Now I need to implement them. And then there's the marketing aspect and OY! I don't have enough time in the day!

Well I've started small with just a couple of pieces on Peerhub and I'll build it up from there.

i signed up for peerhub the other day. i love the idea behind it. especially that we can be paid in steem. so rad! :)

What are you selling on there?

services, things i'm able to do for money. video editing, things like that. nothing physical. yet.

I looked at your post (now following) I thought it may be of that essence. Great stuff!

thank you, very kind. i'll be posting regularly! :)

Congratulations on stepping out into the art fair world! People do love to connect with the makers of the art that they buy. Here's to a great holiday season for you - and your future art fans!

Well my plan is to next apply for an art specific fair in spring.

Your art has a nice springtime feel to it. It should do well, especially in those nice, white frames. Good luck!
