Willem de Kooning master piece "Interchange"

As a non-artist, when i see paintings i appreciate some of them because i find some Master piece Mystifying. You just can't explain the beauty of it.

So i always watch out for amazing art works by @opheliafu, @inber, @halo, @edgar and so many amazing Steemit-Artists i can't mention.

But how many Steemians understands what Abstract art it?

Be that as it may, abstract art continues to be one of the top traded commodities among the World's elite, just like Cryptocurrencies and gems.

This is the "_Interchange_, a master piece by Willem De Kooning. It was sold for $300 million at a recent auction.

The question is, how many Steemians , Crypto-junkies can afford this?

good post. I follow you

Thanking you, i followed back mate.

Most abstract art reminds me of mental illness...I just can't get into it!

Oh....my bad!
You know at times i just stare into the nothingness conjure on those canvases, trying to figure out the mystery in them.

Yeah, I tried to see anything in those abstracts, they don't make me feel good, no lifting of the spirit. They are a currency, an investment, that's the only profit I see 💲💲💲

😆😆😆😄😄😄....i understand that $$$ part @reddust!

This is our global God 💲...bow down to the God of profit, were the spirit and goodness of art don't count🙏

😁😃😃😃.....🙌🙌

No I would not. Where is the skill, technique, difference? At least Picasso was a brilliant conventional artist before he developed his own style. More money than sense! X

Hmmmm.....True talk about piccaso.
But, this is an outrageous lump of money dear @get-baking.....

Oh I so agree, sick! Do you know it has become the fashion for some of the very successful Turner prize winners in Britain to hold onto their copyright when they sell Art. That means, you spend millions on one of their so called 'masterpieces', and if you sell it on you have to pay them a percentage of your profit. Greed, greed, greed. X

😃😃😃i call it patent rights.
Business strategies.....

I call it simple greed! X

I agree just 55%....😋😎

@oluwoleolaide thank you for the mention and your support. I like all works of art and photography. That is one of my favorite things here on Steemit, there so many great artist and photographers on here.

Very true my dear friend, so many talented individuals like yourself.

I really like abstract art! But is a painting worth 100s millions while another painting is only worth 100$? I would debate that! But at Steemit it is the same with posts, some posts are rewarded with 100s to even 1000s of $, while other (maybe even better) posts are valued with a couple of dimes.

Years ago (maybe even decades) when I was at MoMo NYC, I sat in front of "The Voice" for at least half an hour (https://steemit.com/art/@edje/beautiful-painting-the-voice-1950-by-barnett-newman). How abstract can a painting be :)? Would I pay 100s million for this? Probably not, even if I would be a billionaire. The price to certain pieces of art is set so high because of the few who are almost unlimited wealthy who either want something for investment, or those who want to show of to others.

wow.... @edje, you really got the deep meaning of my post. Some post here on Steemit are worth thousands while they are under valued. Abstract Art is like a Steemit post with less life in it but huge rewards...

The art world is a strange creature.
