Amateur artists made incredible sculptures from junk (phantastically astonishing images!) (II part)

in #art7 years ago (edited)

The Art Center PDVSA La Estancia is perhaps the most successful attempt of architectural restoration in Caracas, and surely, one of most accomplished examples of landscape architecture in the city. The house in which indoor exhibition takes place is the original estate-house of formerly hacienda La Floresta that gave its name to the quartier in which the art center is now located. In the outside, a square designed after the French style of gardens, and an Andalusian fountain surrounded by ceramic banks are still well kept up. By the right, the old house borders on the courtyard for drying coffe, given that this was a coffe farm, whose most celebrated owner was Pedro Palacios y Sojo, a. k. a. "El Padre Sojo"(Priest Sojo), who also taught music, and is rembembered as great-uncle of Simón Bolívar, "El Libertador", for the mother line. Pedro Palacios lived in the XVIII century, a time that saw coffe spreading across the Valley of Caracas (matter of fact, there are more than one valley), as the price of coffe was increasing in Europe, and cocoa had already lost its status as basis of Venezuela's colonial economy.

The estate was indeed far from Caracas. The nearest town was San José de Chacao, established 1762, which was the only town for white people and their black slaves to dwell, besides of Caracas, in those valleys. Other villages, namely, Antímano, El Valle (southwest), Baruta, El Hatillo (southeast), and Petare (far east) were for indian and Spanish Catholic missionary inhabiting only. Nowdays PDVSA La Estancia's gardens and buildings are one of few remanents of the agricultural past of Caracas, a city that suddenly arose by discovering of petroleum in Lake Maracaibo, in the dessertic coast of Falcón State, and in the Llanos, and was since then just devoted to New York's and its own image.

Animals love their kids too. Not only kinship, but a brotherhood of souls men know (even though this can be taken as speciesism... anyway, it was not me, but Gogol who say it).

Is it just me or I just saw a pretty kitty to and fro?

What cannot the lion, can the fox.

P1040776.JPG
Resignation before the cattle makes the lion throw himself with hungry.

P1040777.JPG
A flea in the sleeping mattress is worse than a lion in a dessert... You think twice! It is my only advice.

P1040778.JPG
Let it not to look at your eyes!

P1040780.JPG
And what kind of animal are we talking about? Wait, I get it! This is no literal piece... those postmodern artists...

P1040779.JPG
Should we, insofar as a turtle's steps are careful, cut the wings of an eagle?

A dragon has learnt: those who want to lift themselves must be against the wind.

P1040782.JPG
A dragon takes only a path by its own, which it already knows.

He who has got money is a dragon; he who does it not is a worm.

There is no fish without stickers, and no man without flaws.

A women with no man is like a fish without bicycle (sorry ma'ams. I mean: as if fishes were in need of their bikes ;)).

nice art...I love the animals...

So do I. Thanks for coming here and leaving me your comment ;)

Wow! This is lovely art where the materials were from recycled materials.

Right. Although it is also utterly lovely for the way in which people who usually work in a pragmatic field got involved in art.
