Here comes the sun

Following my last post I'd like to show you another one with the toy soldiers. It is part of a collaborative work we did with my artgroup Hydra. The masses of people lumping together is something that i've used in few of my paintings before but in this and the previous one I used toy soldiers. This sphere of gold painted soldiers one is hovering in the air above the rest of the work like a sun pointing to the glorification of war in the popular culture and the profits made from it. The whole piece we did titled "Hamburger Hill" had a lot of themes going on and basically was like a battlefield of ideas, consisting of modified toys and miniature sculptures. We have a new exhibition coming next week and maybe i'll do a full feature closer to that.
