FREEDOM: The Making of a Realistic Art with Autodesk Sketchbook
It's been a while that I drew a realistic drawing. I also made a tutorial over a month ago here . I had people who enjoyed the tutorial and it will serve as reference for the newbies who contact me for a guide on digital art. I can't say I've gone "digitally digital" but I'm well on course. I only need to up my game when I get a new PC.
So I selected a reference image here and this is our final drawing.
I want to believe most of those who want to do this already know about the basics which I explicitly touched in the aforementioned tutorial. Let's get down to it.
The software I'm using for this is Autodesk Sketchbook Pro for Android. It is available on both Android, iOS and Windows OS.
WALKTHROUGH
The desired resolution is selected in accordance to the reference's resolution (4000 x 2500). Then a new layer is created atop the image for the outline. The outline is done with the HARD PENCIL of size 3.7.
TIME: 3 MINUTES, 48 SECONDS.
Taking it further, a new layer is created atop the outline then the Soft Airbrush is selected and used to mark the shadows with variable sizes and opacity.
TIME: 5 MINUTES, 2 SECONDS.
The Shadows are smoothened to make it more real with variable sizes and opacity of the Soft Airbrush and Colourless Soft Airbrush
TIME: 1 HOUR, 30 MINUTES.
The Outline layer is hidden and edges of the drawing are cleaned with the SOFT ERASER on small size and 92 percent opacity. Then add adittional touching.
TIME: 1 HOUR
The butterfly is painted with the design pencil, traditional pencil, soft airbrush with different patches of red, yellow, maroon, brown e.t.c until desired effect is acquired and then outlined with the design pencil
TIME: 1 HOUR, 9 MINUTES.
ESTIMATED TIME
3 HOURS 15 MINUTES

It may be hard at first and it takes a while before your drawing starts to take shape. That's why it is very important to exercise patience during the challenging process. Patience might be difficult as even I have my own abadoned projects due to the rigorous process involved. I must however advise that any one who wants to attempt this should first familiarize his/herself with the software in order not to look lost.
I titled this work FREEDOM and it has a mark in my life.
