Last year, I tried participating in the "Inktober" challenge. It is traditionally a drawing challenge but hey, why can't we artists that use digital tools be included too? =)

I didn't quite keep up but I didn't mind that much because from the 11 days I did participate, came a few gems. Sporangia was one of them.

It is meant to express potential in motion. Seeds and spores are exactly that... All the coding necessary for complex growth, in transit, ready to be deployed.

The Creation Process:

The program I used is called JWildFire, an amazing little fractal program, and it's free! This was part of Inktober, remember, so I was rushed. I hit the randomizer button a few times until I came across this:

By removing one of the formulae, I was able to get round shapes, and I thought of pollen/spores...:

Some parameter tweaking and I was able to separate the elements that were all bunched together in that one dark spot above. Some more tweaking, and changing of the camera angle for framing, and it was complete!:

Well, besides the colouring, which probably took me more time than I should have spent on it, as always ;P

So, with a seed/potential- themed piece, I must ask you: Are you being the best you you can be? ;) If not, there's never a better time than the present to start. Go, now! Do something great.
