The German illustrator @palien who just joined is doing one of the fancy new challenges - There should come a new drawing every day... check it out - it is looking good.

It struck me that I am also making a drawing every day, just not as a challenge... today this Musician.

awww so cool! yay thats the spirit! Really cool style! :) Keep it up, we can do this! :) And thank you soo much for mentioning me! :) really appreciate it!

I actually pride myself of the days I do not work :) But another thing... Have you ever thought about making a comic? Your characters really look like they have a history. (I have been working on a comic since I joined Steemit)

Hehe, well thats very important, too! Its just that I am very good at procrastinating and I think its one of my worst part of personality.. and I always felt guilty. Just felt the need for years to get it under control :D.... Noo,.. but mostly because I have no Idea what to tell about :) But thats a very very nice compliment that my characters look like they have a story. Maybe I can at least develop some characters... hmmmm :D

I made the longest comment for you, and then I took it all and made this post : https://steemit.com/work/@katharsisdrill/artist-advices-on-procrastination

Telling a story is part of illustration, but I admit that comics is generally rather hard to make. I just wanted to hear. On the other hand you do not need to make anything but a few pages and the story does not need to be a real story. In manga there is many beautiful sequences where not much happens...

Hey @katharsisdrill! This is very interesting! I've never seen it that way.. maybe thats what I am doing wrong sometimes... that everything has to be like super epic and working and.. I dunno! :D Expecting too much and then be disappointed! This example is really awesome and definetely worth a try! Thank you so much for your motivation!

I always start to big. But the sensible thing is to just build it up slowly.

Great drawing! What size is it IRL?

This immediately came to mind:

It's digital but the original file is rather big. And yes Robert Johnson, Leadbelly and all the other old blues pioneers was also what I thought about when drawing :)

I was hoping it was not digital but a, um, manual in ink.

Working white on black is very hard on paper. The paper is seldom really black and the white is seldom opaque.

As this pseudonym I rather exclusively work on computer-medias, but I have made a lot of analogue art before. If this should be made to work I would use lithography and paint with the gum. That way you can work in negative just like I do on the wacom tablet. But it is a while since I worked with stone. A friend of mine wanted me to go with him to the Faroe Islands to make prints at a workshop in Thorshavn, but we'll see if that ever happens :)

Litho, woodcut, linocut, all fine with me, and a reasonable price, so I can maybe put this on my wall 8-).

Ah, yes woodcut might actually be the easy way to do this. I could maybe make an edition at some time - but I will have to return to you then... Right now I am just trying to keep up :)

I will also have to lend a press, but I have plenty of contacts for that... so i might make an edition. It could be a fun project!

Amazing followed and upvoted
