What is the Contest?
It is for Artists of all kinds to show their best Watermark.
Being an artist, it's hard to ensure our work isn't stolen or plagiarized. This is why having a watermark that cannot be edited or corrupted comes in handy!
I'm making this post to also perhaps motivate those who have yet to make one for themselves. Not all of us are experts in every field (although it would be nice).
RULES
1: Be original and make sure it's your own work.
2: Only one Watermark per post.
3 (optional): Upvote those who submit theirs. Because we could all use it.
No set theme!
Preferably you should post it over one of your original works so you can showcase what you have.

Here's my watermark:
I just love the font century gothic. Every computer has this font and its just simple and nice, the font are sharp so it is easy to read.
Edited: I edited my entry cause I didn't read the image needs to be original. (I thought it was the watermark). So I changed to something of my own work.

Well this is the Watermark/Logo I use on on everything I create here on Steemit. :)
The word is pronounced 'Ree-rezz' and in order to establish that I made the letters'Re' and 'Rez' linked with a space in the center. This was important to assist people in pronouncing the name! The font is a modified Helvetica with alterations and touches on each letter. The biggest change was the 'Z' which I had to essentially design from scratch. It was really important to get that last letter looking extra sharp!
The background animation consists of some video from a couple of my episodes that I've made for my YouTube series. All in all, I think it gets the job done!

Should we just put the watermark over random photo so it is nicely visible?
It seems almost too easy since we can create whatever, I'm missing some theme or mandatory element. That would guarantee original entries...
Good question. Preferably you should put it over one of your original pictures (to showcase your work).
As for theme, there really isn't one. In general, I finished making one for myself recently and wondered how well others have created theirs. So, I figured I'd just make a contest out of it and reward the 3 best marks. What would guarantee originality is a good ol' reverse image search on google to ensure someone didn't just plagiarize another.

What I posted earlier was more of a business card. I'm looking for people to make Watermarks.
yeah I know what watermark is :D I'm just saying I never needed it since I either work directly for client or I'm posting something and don't care about people stealing it..
I used to not care too much. But ever since I learned that FB can basically steal it and get money for it, I'm being much more careful.
It should be something that is not overly distracting over that takes away from the image but is not easy to remove or crop out.

Gosh golly, I suppose not. Seeing how you submitted 0 Watermarks, I guess I can't complain much at all. However, I would encourage you to submit an actual Watermark so I could consider you for some Whaleshares. But, if you don't care about the contest at all and just want to mess around with people's posts, then by all means, enjoy yourself. It's not like I can stop you.
