Hi! Showing my third turtle painting! 🎨

The third of the series!

The Set of Four!

Just as I said, I had a fourth piece, here they are together! If time allows, I can make a new one. All of them are done with watercolor with white acrylic.

Let's proceed to the materials and process photos!

🎨 PAINTBRUSHES: You can buy any nylon/ hair brush set, it's all good! Artists grade is best but as long as it's easy to work with and produces a good effect then any paint brush is good.

🎨WATERCOLOR AND WATERCOLOR PAPER: Watercolor is also good if it's artist grade, the paper must be non acidic, and textured. It must be watercolor paper so it doesn't tear and warp.

🎨 Here's my set:

Okay, basics, you should also have pencils and erasers. There's mine.

I did not use the white charcoal for anything though.

PROCESS PHOTOS AND VIDEOS

1. Sketch

2. Slightly erase heavy lines.
   

3. Paint over yellow as a base. And add midtones to define shape and add volume.
   Most colors are usually vibrant, this will help your art look more lively after putting natural colors in.
   

4. Add dark lines, usually black, bluegreen plus purple or blue and brown. Adding red, red orange and red brown helps too.
   

5. Do same for all turtles. Tip, yellow green or green makes subjects look natural or realistic. Can also be used to add light shadow as it turns a bit grey too. Shadow is grey.
   
   

6. This is how dark lines help define it more.

(7) Painting the sand and and water. This is light to dark, just layering the hues of orange and yellow, flesh tone and some pink.

(8) Paint the waves with layers or sky blue, white, blue green, aqua blue, dark blue, navy blue, violet, purple, dark blue violet.

(9) Add more layers for the water afar/ the horizon. Here I added white acrylic for the bubbles and foam but my sis and mom realized how I did the waves wrong so I painted over it, changed the angle and adjusted it.

(10) adding blue horizon. White acrylic is for highlights and bubble foamy stuff. Also used black brush pen to darken outlines and shadow.

The turtle fin looks like it pops out more.

I fixed the background!

I add reddish brown on the sand to make it look wet.

And Finished!

Let's analyze the design!

Here are some of the features of my piece. The design and movements and color.

Emphasis on the meeting of the turtles and the waves.

There's a different expression of for the wave which has less details and the turtles which are detailed. It helps us focus a lot on the turtles too. The wave has a big impact and the turtles need to be emphasized as well.

The warm vs cool colors. Same as all my other turtle pieces.

The movement and motion is emphasized by still turtles vs. the ones crawling toward the wave.
The turtles in motion are my favorite part I watch many turtle videos and I think they're so adorable!

Endangered and need our constant attention.

All marine life is in danger of chemical waste pollution and plastic pollution.

• Let's go organic and avoid health hazards to ourselves and the environment.
• Plant more trees.
• Avoid plastic use and manage plastics: make eco bricks, living a zero waste lifestyle.
• Push for a plastic ban (which is most important).
• Save an animal in need! Many animals get tangled and caught in balloon strings, fishing nets, fishing hooks, six can plastic pack, single use plastic, disposable plastic gloves, bottles and lots more. Let's pick up and clean.
