Why Steemit is the Premiere Environment & Tool for Artists 3: Combine Work and Social DevelopmentssteemCreated with Sketch.

in #art7 years ago

One of the toughest obstacles for artists is integrating everything it takes to sustain the social promotion of your work. Today, that includes tasks like blogging, Instagramming, Facebooking, and maintaining a website portfolio of work. For most of us creatives, it takes away from valuable time that we can spend brainstorming and creating.

  • Who has time to do all this?

Jack of All Trades, Master of All

What I've come to increasingly appreciate is how Steemit can begin to combine these facets and streamline the creative process, all the while relinquishing some baggage. Just from a cursory mental list, you could do all the following in the same post-olympic

1- Present high quality images of new work with details
2- Update your audience on events, exhibitions, etc. that you're involved or will be involved with
3- Write journal entries on your creative process
4- Give tutorials on your specific craft or field
5- Maintain a running list of worldly inspiration
6- Be compensated for these efforts with Steem Dollars/Steem Power

That's a lot of dead birds and we've hardly thrown a stone.

This builds upon [yesterday's post on building an audience] and it really highlights a voice that can be such a useful tool for artists and designers. You can reach out to people in your area, seamlessly integrate new strides in your work, and all in all add things onto your daily work that will do away with all the external effort.

Let me know how else you've used Steemit for your creative potential!

I've started to use some of my posts as a virtual exhibition space. So the post is not just showing the work but it becomes the installation. For the last couple of posts I've used the hash tag #virtualexhibition and I will use this for future posts in this format. Exhibiting on the blockchain!

Very cool!!! I'll start posting on the artwork I'm doing as well and maybe we can experiment with how images are circulated and how information can be combine. Curating digital content digitally is an awesome frontier.

A lot of creative people demonstrate their creativity here) And I hope this will develop, incidentally including other interesting aspects)

Absolutely. What's fascinating to watch is how users are beginning to treat the platform like it's own medium, combining text, image, video, etc.

Nice article @hansikhouse! Hopefully the family of apps developing through steem and steemit will also help aid the burden. It would be great to be able to "post" and once you click that button - have the option of posting "photo" "video" or "story" etc... keeping everything under the same umbrella.

I certainly hope so. I can't wait until Steemit is integrated into other social and creative platforms as well.

Hi @hansikhouse, I just stopped back to let you know your post was one of my favourite reads and I included it in my Steemit Ramble. You can read what I wrote about your post here.
