Fantasy flower -Venenosus anguineus
I like the fantasy world, the wizard, the magical creatures. My next magic plant is a fantasy, carnivorous plant.
Its name became Venenosus anguineus. I formed the name of the plant from Latin words. Venenosus means "extremely toxic", anguineus means "ophidian". Its essence can be used for the creation of powerful malicious spells. The witch, with her magic power, is getting this substance out of the plant-like creature.
I'm drawing this picture on wooden plank with aquarell pencils.
This is the sketch on paper with pencil.I have imagined this as a seven-headed dragon and are "heads" encircle the witch, but they are afraid of her because they feel the pain of the spell.
I colorized the surface of plank with red mordent. First I drew the plant.
The magic of the spell dramatically illuminates the witch's face and eyes without iris.
The final image. Plank size: 8x8 inch.
I've never tried couloured pencils on wood. This piece of work is very inspirational on that matter... Great work !
Thank you! Try you! :) If the board is well polished, it is easy to draw on the surface and not so sensitive to repairs the wooden plank than paper.

Thank you so much for your comment! :)
I wanted to draw this carnivorous creature in black and red colors, because this pair of colors suggests strength and wildness.

Thank you for your comment! This was an experiment for me, I did not draw on such surface before this herb planks. :)
Wow, this one is so dark and gothic and I love the 'glow' and the light upon her face. Her eyes are drawing me in! Well done again!
Thank you for your kindly words! Yes, these my own fantasy plants are much warrior and darker than my previous pictures. :)
