The fourth issue was easier because of the soap.
At first the root reminded me "pan's labyrinth" but it doesn't look much alike. Searching for mandrake root, I've found Harry Potter. Unfortunately I haven't read or watched Harry Potter series but with other clues it might be Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
