Inquisitor traitor space marine. Modelled, casted and painted from scratch

The lid is of Pandoras bitbox and the miniatures are pouring out.

This next one is another Inquisitor miniature. this time a chaos spacemarine. I sculpted all the parts in milliput combined with needleheads and cibatool, a hard but brittle material which is excellent for hardsurface modelling, it machines like a dream and it expands very little when heated which makes it perfect for moldmaking.

the red parts are made from cibatool.

I went for a fairly lowkey design . I didnt want him to be mutated. That way I would be able to use it as the basis for both space marines and chaos marines.
Thus he became a Horus heresy traitormarine, maybe one of the world-eaters.
I made molds and cast up at least 8-10 of these. Most of them I decided to give away as gifts but I kept a few and painted one myself.

It has been standing in a display montre for quite a few years now and it has had a rough life. My kids have played with it and it has been moved at least 3 times. so it lost its original unhelmeted head and its backback. it also collected a lot of dust, which i tried to remove before photographing it, with moderate success.

I decided to give it a paintjob inspired by the Bram Stoker dracula with an armour made to look like exposed muscles. To create some contrast I decided to make some bone coloured components as well.
marine04.jpg
so his chainsword and his helmet (which was originally suspended from his belt but came in handy as a replacement head, when the other one got lost) along with the brims and shoetips was painted in a cracked-bone theme

One shoulderpad was left bare with the muscletheme and the other got a star of chaos on it. fitting for his newly found allegiance.
It is a hefty model. It weighs more than 100 g's and stands almost 10 cm tall. and I was, and still am, very pleased with both the sculpt and the paintjob.

It is amazing!!! i used to play 40K about 20 years ago and i did a lot of painting and convertions ( i really sucked at strategy) but never to this level. Inquisitor models were bigger and easier to paint leaving a lot of room to create patterns and details. The game was quite good also. Well done again i was very happy to revisit those memories from more carefree times by looking at this model:)
