A 3d sculpted goose, yet another creative commons sculpt with downloadable stl file
I was inspired to make this sculpt by a post by @ocrdu showing 2 tired geese trying to sleep from a raucous flock of seagulls.
I have tried to find a good , flexible opensource screengrabbing program, and some days ago I stumpled upon OBS in conjunction with Avidemux it does exactly what I need.
To celebrate (and test) this, I decided to try my hand at sculpting a realistic animal. I chose a goose because of @ocrdu s post mentioned above.
captured the process in 6 or 7 stages (mainly done in the train when I commute) I did the capture with OBS and the speedup and editing in Avidemux.

One of those things I always wanted to get into because of all the cool things you can make. Would have to learn a little 3d first though :/ most I did was play with some Zbrush.
the first hurdle is always to sit down and do the tedious task of getting to know a 3d-program.After that, it is much like drawing or painting. It does take a little effort to get past the point where you go from just messing about, to actually doing real stuff. Its totally worth it though, and it is probably not that different from when most of us learned to draw originally, that took a while too (for me it did at least).
Yea when I dabbled with zbrush it was in that messing around phase of "omg look what this brush does" and you just use an endless amount of brushes/tools to make basically a mud bomb of nothing lol
I really should use it more because I think it would be beneficial to my art in general.
