My painting in progress: : “Remisteria” (Day3) detailing oil on 24 x 36 in stretched canvas
“Remisteria”
I was commissioned by a co worker to make a personalized painting her name is Remy and she loves to have a painting with a lot of Wisteria trees. II researched more about the tree and its a Special plant full of mystery and beauty and it blooms with a sweet scent as well. It usually grows in Eastern part of the US and some prts of Asia. This plant comes in three colors, pink white and blue, and each represents a diffrent vibe and meaning.
If you missed my previous post, please check it out here it is:
Blue Wisteria bonsai plant
- this plant with its specific color symbolizes good luck for the journey ahead
- And auspicious beginnings for new ventures
White Wisteria tree
- white represents good luck for newly married couples
Pink Wisteria Vines
- pink for welcoming a baby girl
- blossoming the feeling of love
Over all the meaning of this plant is to give you good luck to your ventures, and celebrating new beginnings of life, rather than focusing on the endings
Like cherry blossoms, these flowers blooms during spring season from March - May, i could imagine maybe in japan or some parts of asia having this as a walkway and that would be a very epic sight to see, specially spending time with your loved ones. Now im interested of maybe having my own plant, i have been researching for this plant and maybe i can have one of it for my home, or better yet a bonsai version of it.
#Let me show you my process for this painting
- started as a sketch, and just an idea that could be manifested to reality
- applied it on canvas, started sith the skies and clouds for my initial background, the color i used was:
- pthalo blue
- alizarin crimson
- indian yellow
- titanium white
- and for the mountain that resembles Mt Mayon, i used burndt umber and pthalo blue, with titanium white as highlights
- i also blocked out the whole painting and focused on where my fog and mist will be concentrated
- not much detail, but darkened the foreground and made the edges of the waterfall more defined and also its a good way to make ground for the trees on the background
- added the waterfall and it turned out really well, and also the river stream
- i also blacked my Wisteria trees, its makes the light colors more vibrant with this background
- started making my farthest Wisteria tree, and its like hanging in the edge of the cliff, i could imagine sitting there and just looking it that beautiful waterfall
- Added another Pink Wisteria tree, and in order to make this effect whih i just learned, was uselinseed oil to make it more smoother, and on the black background add alizarin crimson, the use a fanbrush loaded with titanium white and just angle it with the direction of the willowing Wisteria tree
- then lastly for Day 3, added a big Blue Wisteria tree with a swing and a lady staring towards the waterfall
- i made this part to give a feeling of relaxation and to give a sense of peace, that everythings is going to be alright feel in this highlight and that lady is my depiction of Remy
And that pretty much sums up Day 3, just a few more details and it will be done in no time
