The robots help people get noticed, it's the assholes that send so much to them that everyone ends up getting negative returns that hurt the system. There is nothing wrong with bid bot's if they are not abused. They are not for every post you make and they are not a way to become a top steemian. They are for a little boost and when used correctly help everyone overall. Some have just gotten very greedy and think that it is a way to become a top steemit user as they move here from their follower buying YouTube accounts.
There is no bot strategy for real users. The people who complain about the bots are using them to try and make money and screaming foul when getting flagged. Bots are not a source of income unless you own the bot.
It's the people phishing users from Youtube and directing them that bots are an easy way to rape the reward pool that are causing all of the bot issues. There have been bots forever, the bots are normal, it's the new influx of scammers that is the problem.
That's great, I spent my first 3 months giving away every SBD I earned as a prize to a contest or sending to other new accounts to get them started. I don't want to spam people, what is the point in spamming your comment section?
Have you tried steemit.chat it isn't set up as a vote trade exchange like discord. It's being in a room with other steemians and you get to know each other and you build more of a following.
I am also looking at your feed and trying to see what it is that you're doing to gather others and it is 90% resteems, those are nice to help out your fellow steemians after you have followers but it looks like you are not producing any content. People visit your blog to see what you are offering. Find the thing that you know and understand and produce your post on that.
There are enough users that everyone can build a following, it just takes time and effort. If you try at first and it doesn't work, switch up what you are doing and try again.
I haven't signed up for discord yet and I haven't tried steemit.chat either. I might try one or both in a few days when I get more voting privileges. So far I've mainly done comments. I'm REALLY handicapped with my limited voting privileges though otherwise I might already own this site. lol I'm glad I can make comments but it's frustrating not really being able to upvote yet. I think there's enough users on this site although we can use 1000% growth.
I'd rather you ask new people to follow you than to help kill this site with robots.

Yeah I think this site has a lot of potential for real interaction but I can see how a bid bot strategy can fail.

A lot of accounts that use the bots don't even upvote or comment on the people that do come to them which seems dumb to me.
I'd rather you spam my comment section than use the robots.

:( Live and learn. I've probably wasted a few grand or two on failed ads. You could ask for and hopefully get new followers like you want.
