"Only peace is edible" - Oil on canvas

I attended a few days ago an exhibition of this late painter, until then unknown to me, having a very pleasant surprise.

It has pictures with a lot of message, those that impact you and make you enter the exhibition if by chance you have placed your eyes on one of those paintings from outside the glazed enclosure where they reside.

He is also author of a great amount of landscapes, as much of Valencian Community as of other Spanish localities.

His landscape works, apparently somewhat blurred from close, are acquiring more detail as you move away from them; something that made me remember the great Velázquez.

Beautiful shots and post. @dresden

Thank you so much @dihoa

I like some of the pictures at the top. Looking at these pictures they always make wonder what the artist is trying to tell us with his art. I just can imagine that some of the pieces at the top are very deep.
But you never know... sometimes they mean nothing :D
Thanks for sharing.

I'm with you on that.
Did you look at the painting "Me and You"?
For me it's his most profound and personal painting.
If you look at it you can see a little girl hiding between a door and a dark room, affraid of the watchers. I think it means that the painter could be gay but in their times the homosexuality was punished with jail or even death, so he only was allowed to say it through this personal painting.

Man this is a great and strong message! Like that.

These works are amazing. Fantastic work with oil paints. I know all about the subtleties in using oil. Definitely following you now. I work in both Acrylic and Oil. You can check out one of my acrylic works here: https://steemit.com/painting/@stanhopeofficial/03-the-discovery-original-painting

Thanks. I took a look on your profile!
