”We Will See and Her Foal, Noble Vision” 10”x10” (#3389) watercolor and India ink on Arches
by Lee Gordon Seebach

Thoroughbreds

Some folks I know in Iowa who breed and race thoroughbreds wanted to know if I'd like to paint their beautiful horses. I said "hell yeah!" 😎

I hope you enjoy seeing this painting. Have a great day! 😀 ☮️ ❤️

Working on a large watercolor of Canyon de Chelley in my new studio near Artesia, New Mexico.

Nice art you made also you have a nice website :)

Thank you very much @mylifestory. I keep hoping Steemsters will check out my site so I'm happy you did.

I'm not sure but.. but i think you'r getting better and better, no?
Because you always work with diligence and care.
Nice, nice! Like the drawing!
Waiting for more!)

Hey friend @yaan Thank you. More to come each day.

Man, you're one talented guy, haha. More and more impressed with each post I see! I bet those people were super stoked to see your painting of their horses!

Much obliged @deadspace They seemed to like it but it wasn't a commission so they weren't obligated to add it to their art collection. Plus, they had a bad year so I put it on my website.

I would be shocked if they didn't like it, haha. I'd love something like that for our pets, I actually had an artist I've known for awhile do a portrait of my girlfriend childhood dog last month and she was ecstatic about it. Maybe it's just because I'm a sucker for animals and good art though :P

Portraits can definitely mean a lot. I once painted a portrait of a boy who was later in a serious accident and paralyzed. His mother cherishes the painting because "it reminds me of how he used to be," she said.

Oh what fine work you are doing! What a beautiful master piece. You really captured the essence of both beings. Wonderful!

It is a shame the racing industry is not so beautiful. It is a shame the racing industry, drug the horses to ensure performance and work them way too early (horses bones only fuse at 5/6 years old they start them at 1/2 years old and structurally and mentally they are not ready). Most sad of all is most end up at the feedlot for slaughter because they didnt win, could not be bred, are not good runners or were structurally unsound or had other health issues. This I know because I am involved in horse rescue. It took me 2 years to bring my mare who was beaten (they broke her jaw among other things), pushed beyond her limits and other abuse to understand not all humans use her as tool. The racing industry is not pretty.

Thank you very much @whitedolphin ! Thanks, too, for where you're doing for these beautiful animals. I'm sure the people I know in Iowa treat their horses well.

Thank you. I did not want to detract from the beauty of your work that is why I separated the information from my comments re the admiration of your work.

Yes, I am sure they do. 😀

Yes and they probably enjoyed it too! 👍

Yes, they liked it but couldn't get it at the time. Maybe they still will.

I love your style.
BTW I'm wondering how you monetize your work? Do you do only commissions or also create physical products, use Etsy or anything else etc?

Thanks so much @travelart I do not do commission work, but create my art based on subjects I find that I resonate with. I exhibited in art galleries for many years but finally got fed up with their BS. I sell my own work now, but do have one gallery in Iowa with someone in my family. I have a website, link in my post. Thanks for asking.

Nice Painting.
Looks like Photo taken of real horses.

👍🏽 😎 It was a joy to create!

Beatiful art
