Hello everyone!

Today we tackle: Perspective !

A subject that is hated by alot of people.. Including myself! :)
It is sort of set of boring rules that you have to abide by when drawing and painting.

So what is perspective.. Well the dictionary says:
the art of representing three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional surface so as to give the right impression of their height, width, depth, and position in relation to each other.
"the theory and practice of perspective"

I couldn't agree more..

When you are better in perspective and it doesn't become a thing you have to worry about in your work.. you can sort of 'free-hand' it, you will become much better making more believable designs.

For example, you will have more freedom in the poses of your characters. Making them more dynamic and lifelike. Because when you can convey that certain shapes are getting bigger or smaller when they are going towards the viewer you get that freedom to design such compositions at will. Making your work much more interesting.

It really all comes down to placing simple shapes in perspective.example.png

This doesn't just go for characters, landscapes too.
Knowing and using perspective will make you much better at creating interesting compositions.

Something that I often see happening is that the size of the objects in the environment don't make sense.
It then takes away from the painting itself. Which is a shame! :)
When perspective is done right the artist will have be able to really convey the size of the environment. Being indoors or outdoors.

Some examples.

So in my Perspective video here I show you some quick exercises that you can do to practice perspective.
It isn't so much about the rules etc,, mostly just exercises to help you see if something is right and eventually be able to freehand it.

I hope you liked it!

Thank you so much!

Dude i absolutely loved this thank you for the knowledge ahhh!

Thank you very much ^^ :)))

I have to comment b4 I watch. This is really really amazing work.

I have to note that not all work in the article is mine, so i just used to show how it is working (the perspective itself) - The wolf isnt mine, its a splash art from LOL , then there's 2 images (the scifi) that i found on the web, the rest is mine :X i should probably note that! Sorry about that!

I thought it was yours because your work is similar and also amazing. Maybe leave a comment or website link saying where the art was from. I personally don't mind but you bet there will be someone who does and mentions it to the steemit police or flag it , You keep yourself right buddy.

Thanks mate! Noted :) and editted!
