Power of .50 calibre mg
This photo was perfectly timed to capture a .50 caliber Machine Gun trace round being fired out into the sea off East Timor coast during my Peace Keeping Mission in 2004.
My Troop and I preparing to Head off to East Timor from Enoggera Barracks, Brisbane.
The black and white photo was taken when we were asked to protect a Politicians visit.
Some great memories from my time in East Timor.
You did a great job helping create a new country freed from an oppressive occupation. Nice to see the .50 in action. I just saw the badge on the Black beret, last bastion of our proud Light Horse regiments. My grandfather served with the QMI in WW1.
It was an honor to serve.
Incredible photo!
