The mirror like, high rise buildings are synonymous with business and cashflow ;-) Like a throwback to the 1980's US. But the ones in Dubai always seem to be harbouring their own unique edge and style :-)
They have so many incredible building designs. I've got photographs of some buildings that defy gravity. Totally unique and as you say edgy. I'll post them on the next round of architecture photography.
Dubai is a urban planner dream, or so I have heard. Someone told me that there is replica neighbourhood there of False Creek False Creek is here in Vancouver.
It sure is simple to find whatever you are looking for. Very well planned. I think I know what you are referring too with the False Creek.
We visited it and I got some photos of the place. I'll do a blog on it at some point. Maybe you could do a blog on the Vancouver version?
It is still under construction but some of it was open.
Great architecture. Tall, dark and handsome :) .It's so good to see beautiful buildings. By the way you should visit Pakistan also. We have great heritage and architecture here. Not only of modern age but centuries old as well. Thanks

The second pic reminds me of what we used to call in Detroit the Renaissance Center which is now world HQ of General Motors.
