TacoCat’s Travels #36 (Japan Ver1): Happy Christmas in USJ!🎄

in #archisteem5 years ago (edited)

Hey Steemit!

I'm so overwhelmed by the response to my previous post! Thank you so much to all those who read, curated and upvoted it! So just to recap, this series is from my very first trip to Japan and this is the last post from a trilogy where we explored Universal Studios Japan! In the previous post, we just got done exploring the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and now it's time to wrap up our day-long trip with a Christmas lights show!

2 January 2016. Saturday.

We started making our way back to the huge Christmas tree because we knew there would be a lights show at night. We also wanted to see the Hollywood area with its lights on as well.

Soon enough, we finally arrived back at the huge Christmas tree; it was beautifully lit up and the stage was too.

There was some really nice Christmas songs playing when we got there, and a lot of people were gathered near the stage. After a while, the stage began showing a video with Japanese lyrics of the songs.

Sorry for the shaky cam! :/

Soon after that, some performers dressed in Santa outfits took the stage and began singing some classic Christmas songs!

The show ended with a really nice shot of the stage with the words "Merry Christmas", and the tree being a rainbow of colours.

I tried my best to capture it but my phone camera wasn't very good back in 2016 :/

It was only about 15 minutes or so, but we really enjoyed the show. And the Christmas tree looked amazing!

After that we went to check out the spiderman store since it was nearby. But it was packed, as expected.

We couldn't really see much of the stuff but we did find this silly hat so we took some funny pictures. 😅

After goofing around for a bit, we took one last walk around the park taking more pictures along the way.

The Snoopy Studios was on the way back to the entrance so we took a short detour and lot more pictures! I've always been a big fan of the Peanuts comics so we couldn't leave without taking a look around!

We even managed to go on the Snoopy ride which if you recall, looked like this:

It was made for kids so it wasn't very thrilling or anything but hey, it's still fun. I believe there was also a Snoopy roller coaster which we took which was more fun than this one. I don't have a picture of it unfortunately, because I'm pretty sure my phone battery depleted from taking too many pictures. But it looks like this:

It was actually pretty fun, and I remember one of the staff complimented my time turner necklace. 😄 I guess she was also a big Harry Potter fan.

After exploring Snoopy Studios, we started making our way back to the entrance, and there was a Disney floating lights show along the main road!

There were brightly lit floats of classic Disney characters. Some of the floats even had performers dressed as the characters themselves waving at us!

It was pretty bright but really cool to see all the different neon floats going down the road. There was also music playing according to which character was going down the road; sorta like a neon Disney parade!

After that we made our way back to the entrance, and finally got a decent shot with the globe!

We walked back to the train station to get a shot before going back to our apartment.

What a long day! Both of us were super tired after walking so much we bought back some dinner and just relaxed before going to bed.

I had such a great time at USJ! Even though it was super crowded and we only got to go on 3 rides, it was really fun just walking around and seeing all the stuff that was built in the park. The Harry Potter World itself was worth it. Now that Super Nintendo World is being built in USJ, I can't wait to go back and see the Mushroom Kingdom brought to life! I've been saying Nintendo should build a theme park and a store in Japan for ages and now they finally have! We probably won't go back to Japan for a while (esp not with the Olympics and Nintendo World opening soon because crowds) but I can't wait to go back! 😄

Thanks so much for reading!
