The 1001 Places to Remember has been going on steadily with different amazing stories submitted and @archisteem had rewarded a total of:

It has been an amazing journey to empower the authors by giving more rewards for the authors’ hard work. We started this project with the idea of multiplying the value of the stories written by the authors through compilation, reward and publication. Meaning to say, the authors who had participated in this project will gain exposure, extra votes, rewards and even publication royalty even after their post’s expired in the Steem blockchain.

As of now, the project had accumulated 111 submissions with 86 of them qualified to be compiled and publicize in our later planning.

We hope to gain more voters for the voting sessions as we want to sustain the project reward system as well as the overall community support. All the gain will be either stay as reward pool for the future contest or converted to Steem for power up and SP leasing. For the time being, @archisteem will be constantly leasing 150 SP to support all the tag users of #archisteem and #placestoremember (of course, by following by our qualification rules which is to prevent spamming and unrelated post).

I am grateful to have @tcpolymath’s minnow support initiative @doctorworm and @photocircle’s main supporter @vortac for being supportive. Not to forget the project collaborators who are @aaronli who started #citystory and also @funtraveller who started @photocircle (also our co-founder). Without this support, I don’t think the initiative can develop and sustain up until now. In the near future, I would like to open up to more collaborators and supporters for the initiative, @archisteem which could support the projects like 1001 Places to Remember and other upcoming ones.

To be honest, the qualified stories submitted by the authors are all well written and unique by themselves. It is very hard for the juries to choose the winners as there are stories which had their final marks very near to each other. Due to the lack of voters to support their post, it is hard for us to add in third party’s judgment to help us in choosing the winners.

Here are some insights on how the juries judge the stories:

Photography (30%)

Uniqueness, clarity and entertaining

For the photography judging, we set these three aspects for assessment purpose. Uniqueness is based on how exotic or rare the images are like something never seen before. As for clarity, it is more on the quality of the shots which we do not want to have pixelated or blurred photographs to be publicized. Lastly, entertaining is about the story behind the photography whereby it depends on how the juries perceive it and assessed accordingly.

Story (60%)

Attractiveness, Fact Driven and Commerceability

Attractiveness is judged based on the storyline whether it attracts the reader or not. As for fact driven, it is judged based on the density of facts provided in the story. Whereas for commerceability, it is an overall judgement based on the juries personal opinion on whether the public (other than Steemit community) likeliness for the story.

Vote (10%)

Based on the received votes during the voting session, all the votes will be sum up and divide among the voted posts. The formula is as follow:

=round(number of vote per unique post/sum(total votes)*10,1)

For example, a post by @cklai has a total vote of 3 and the voting session accumulated 35 votes. Then, the calculation will be as follow:

=round(3/35*10,1)
= 0.9
