Antarctica: The FOURMIdable ContinANT

in #antarctica7 years ago (edited)

Here is an anteresting story for you. One shared with me by my aunt Antonella. It’s about the true story behind the legends of Antarctica.

She, herself, read it inside an old and dusty book she found in the anttic when she was cleaning the family house that she inherited from my grandmother. The ageless hardcover she got her hands on was called Anthology of the Anthony family history.

I’ve not seen it myself but according to her, this antique document is a compilation made of the numerous juicy chapters in the life of my antcestors. Unfortunately, this antiquity got lost to my folks when she decided to sell it to some antiquarian.

One specific tale caught her anttention and this is the one I'm about to relay to you.

It was at a time of the European explorers when Antoine Anthony III spent an entire lifetime sailing all across the seven seas. One destination he never really expected ending up to, though, was the great white Antarctic land.

Their polar adventure started when the Antigone ship antered a strange fog. In fact, it was the creepy cloud, which seemingly came out of nowhere, that quickly went rushing their way. It happened so fast that none of them had the time to open their mouth in order to finish the anthem they had started or even take the last available breath of fresh salted air.

What ensued was panic and frenzy as everyone on the boat started to choke for a grasp of oxygen and to drop like flies on the deck. The sulfurous antbient antmosphere got the better of them.

Everybody evantually woke up but they weren't on the three-masted ship anymore. They found themselves locked up in a cage of ice and snow. Surrounded by four frozen, and thus hard as the rock impenantrable walls, their only hope for an escape shimmered through the glass-like translucant icy ceiling hanging above their head. But when I say hope, I actually mean hopelessness, being the mirage of an escape route that this open to the sky view had to offer rather than the open window that could send them free.

Suddenly, they felt the ground moving below their feet. Then, a hole started to form in one of the corners of the freezing room. The hole started getting bigger and bigger... to finally leave room for two giant antennas to reveal themselves!

Which leads us back to the present day. Remember Les Fourmis by Bernard Werber? Did you know that he also writes novels about spirituality, mythology, and philosophy? Are you starting to get the whole picture here?

What do you think of the rumors of pyramids having been found in Antarctica? Don't they remind you of something else found in the animal kingdom? Or should I say in the miniature world of insects?

With all of the talks going on about alien Spider Beings in conspiracy circles, isn't it triggering your own spidey sense? What if people have mistaken eight legs with only six plus two antennas?

Ever heard of the phrase: ''Weaving Spiders Come Not Here''? It's the Bohemian Club motto. Who are the members of this club meeting each year at the Bohemian Grove? Some of the most powerful men in the world. So why would they be exorcizing spiders to stay out of their camp? Is spider a code word for another insect they would prefer being kept a secret?

Let's take a pause here to analyze the very word Antarctica. Its etymology according to Wiktionary:

From New Latin Antarctica, from Ancient Greek ἀνταρκτικός (antarktikós), from ἀντ- (ant-, “ant-, against, opposed”) + ἀρκτικός (arktikós, “Arctic”), from Ancient Greek ἄρκτος (árktos, “bear”)

Originally, the word would have meant ''opposed to the bear''. Most of you are probably familiar with the Ursa Major (Great Bear) and the Ursa Minor (Little Bear) constellations of the northern hemisphere but have you ever heard of the Antlia constellation in the south?

This constellation was first established in the 18th century by a French astronomer as Antlia Pneumatica. The name has since been shortened to simply Antlia and it means ''pump''. Hmmm... it reminds me of the strange gas being pumped into the lungs of our poor but valorous sailors who got captured earlier!

So what did happen to those men? The story went on to tell that they finally ended up face-to-face with a GIANT ANT! Who would have guessed? But those who have paid attention to popular culture probably know that the idea of a GiANT Ant has been circulating on the Hollywood planet for decades now.

Here are the movies which could have had given us a clue on the Dantgerous Ants phenomenon if we would have been attantive:

  • Them! (a 1954 b&w classic on gigantic irradiated ants becoming a national threat)
  • Empire of the Ants (based on an H.G. Wells short story, the film came out in 1977)
  • Legion of Fire: Killer Ants! (a made for tv 1988 flick with a story revolving around the Marabunta kind of ants)
  • Skeeter (released in 1993 and depicting a Giant Ant on its videotape cover)
  • Glass Trap (a 2005 movie about Giant Ants eating people)

Putting all of the pieces together, here is my analysis on what is the big deal with Antarctica:

  • my ancestor ended up in Antarctica, managed to deal with these creatures, became the first human diplomat to the Ant continant, and made it out alive to tell his story
  • the prominent people now visiting the south pole are mostly pursuing this almost 500 years old negotiations tradition
  • the ants may have been the builders of all of Earth's pyramids at a time when the planet was colder but when it warmed up they had to move to Antarctica
  • are they the gods depicted in antcient mythology (remember I hinted at some of Mr. Werber's topics of interest as indicating this possibility)?
  • maybe they come from outer-space, remember the Giant Ant drawn by the Nazca lines of Peru
