During the Christmas holidays, I took care of my sister's beloved Yorkie, Pepper (aka Pepe) and just realized my text updates would make a fun post for my sister, her kids, and any Steemians with a heart for pets too.

Bedtime

Apparently, Pepe sleeps at 10 PM and wherever you place her is where she stays.

The Sport of Cat Chasing

This was the first time Pepe has met a cat. Pepe was on her best behavior the first day. After that, Pepe's new sport was Cat Chasing. My cats were soon designated to just one room. I wish my cats would just hold their ground and not run because Pepe only chases what runs... and bottom line, they could give Pepe a good spanking if they understood the power they had in their little paws.

Reporting In

My sister and the kids loved that I sent regular updates on their pup. I learned the importance of doing this when my neighbor would give me regular updates on my animals whenever I'm out of town.

A Non-Shedding Dog

Yorkies don't have fur so they don't shed. Instead, they have hair. If you don't cut their hair, it keeps growing. Apparently, Pepe loves climbing on top of clean laundry piles. She helped me fold. 😆 And, although no dog is completely 100% hypoallergenic, Yorkies come close (according to the AKC).

Want to Go for a Ride?

Pepe loved going for rides. It was kinda nice being able to bring a cute little pup around town with me. It's hard to bring my 90-pound dog places.

Finicky Eater

Around this time, my niece asked me to add her to the Pepe Reports too. Now, I have a subscriber list of two! LOL

My sister asked me to cut up chicken and sprinkle cheese on Pepe's food so she would eat it. It was such a major undertaking because even then, she struggled to eat her dog food. Later on, when I ran out of Pepe's food, I started feeding her my dog's food. And, she loved it! It looks like new dog food may be in the cards for Pepe!

Anti-leash

Pepe doesn't know how to walk properly on a leash. When she's on a leash out front, she's extremely skittish. She freezes and listens. However, if she were to escape off leash, she's happily running away from you so you're forced to chase her. She needs to go to school. My niece... she cracks me up. Cute pooer! I had no idea that there was such a thing. 😲

Bedtime at 10 PM Sharp

It amazes me how Pepe just conks out at 10 PM. Both Pepe and my husband fall asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow. 💤 Oh, how I envy them!

Smart vs. Cute

For a Yorkie, at least for this one, being cute, adorable and snuggly suffices.

Picking up Daddy

Pepe and I went to the airport the other day to pick up my brother-in-law. My little niece was so excited she wanted me to send her a report on the reunion. Pepe went nuts.

Going Nuts

Tomorrow, I pick up the rest of the family. Pepe's really going to go nuts.

In conclusion

I hope any non-pet lovers took heed of my warning because it is a little goofy how much our family and many other families like ours, love our pets. Our pets are such an integral part of our family that if you're like my husband's father, who only had pets because he was out-voted, it's hard to comprehend.
