Birding in Portugal - animalphotography

Finally proper beach weather arrived in Portugal... and passing the sand dunes on the way to the beach, if you're in the southern areas of the country, this is a very common sighting:

IMG_0127.JPG Crested lark / Cotovia de poupa (PT) - Galerida cristata

The size and the crest of feathers makes the Crested Lark easy to recognize... especially when they're showing off singing from a high branch!

Galerida theklae is a very similar species, and they can easily be mistaken unless really close; they are smaller and with a shorter and darker beak. Don't think I made an identification mistake in this case, thow :)
