I'm not much of a people portraitist, so I like to say that this is the best portrait I've ever taken. He was a good boy, sweet and goofy. He's moved on to The Rainbow Bridge (warning: onions) since, but he was the best dog I'll ever have.
Originally taken for a photography class assignment, I spent all afternoon trying to get a good picture of him as we walked around town, but he was too excitable, rushing from one smell to the next.
It wasn't until we finally got home and I was about to pack up my camera that I managed to get this. He may look like he's posing, but this is just a lucky shot taken a split second before he turned away again.
Beautiful photo. So sorry that he has moved on to the bridge. :(
