Today I'm so happy it finally happened. It not about rabbit but also an animal that is very dear to me always. It serves as a pet, it serves as a great companion, it serves as a security guard for me and my family as a whole.

A Short Story about my Dog ( STAN)

It happened that when I went to a mall here in ilorin, kwara state. I went there to pick up some few stuffs, there I saw this great big giant dog know as Caucasian dog breed I fell in love with it physically, and how its walks. So I moved closer to the owner of the dog while taken a walk together. We walked a long kilometers while questioning was going on like how old was the dog? he said 1 and half years old, where can I get the exact dog breed? He said he bought his own from a very far away state known as Jos. And so many questions. There after our conversation I collected his number and the contact of those in Jos , we linked up today and we bargained, I told them I wanted an Adult dog for security and pet. Few months after, the dog arrived home and it was looking happier and more safe with me.

How Old Is The Dog?

• Presently my dog is 1 year 1 month old ,I did not mated her for a couple of times why? There are some reasons behind it. I wanted her to intentionally miss the first two heat period so that she can grow well and also she can grow all the necessary hormones for carrying the pregnancy when the time comes. And with my dog research it is very necessary and compulsory to miss may be one or two heat period of all dog breed depending on your wish.

Here I have some frequently asked questions on dog heat /dog estrus cycle

(1 ) When does a female dog have her first estrus cycle?

• On a normal condition dogs will have her first estrus cycle when she reach puberty depending on the dog breed.
  What is Estrus? This is the stage of the reproductive cycle in which the dog can become pregnant ( all breeds of dog) sometimes a dog that is in estrus is said to be " On Heat,sexual maturity is reached at about 6 months of age, but this can be for small dog breeds. The smaller breeds of dogs tend to have their first estrus cycle at an earlier age say 6 months , while the large breeds of dogs may not come into heat for the first time until they reach one year plus.

(2) For how long does estrus last?

This estrus cycle vary with the individual dog differences but on average a dog will be 'on heat' for 12-20 days. The beginning of this estrus cycle is characterized by swelling of the external vulva.it is shown down in the image below followed by, the dog will develop a vaginal discharge,in most cases the discharge is often red in colour. This estrus cycle ends immediately when the red discharge completely disappears and the vulva returns to its normal size and shape.

What are the signs of estrus?

• To start with, the most earliest sign of estrus is swelling or engorgement of the external vulva, but this swelling is not always seem able . In so many occasions, a red bloody discharge will be the first thing you will see and observe.
