What If Facebook and Reddit Had A Decentralized Censorship Resistant Baby - Reading The Narrative (NERV) Whitepaper

in #analysis6 years ago

I'm always like to promote rejects that empower individuals to do good and mind their own business. We even had the CEO of "still loosing money" Twitter openly admit the left leaning bias of their platform. I'm not against a private company having a bias. That's their right. They can live and ruin their lives by their own philosophy and we can (and should) stand on our own. That's why I talked about dWeb Protocol and @urbangladiator followed it up with dStatus

Today I'm Talking About Narrative (NERV)

They only have about 6000 members opposed to STEEM that is closing in on 1.2 million and they are still on their Alpha. You are going to be one of the earliest adopters.

Niches and Brands

Unlike being a Specialized Smart Contract Platform like STEEM, Narrative is trying to be more like a centralized version of a Facebook meets Reddit and take a 15% cut of rewards.

There is a heavy emphasis on decentralized moderation. So the platform will be less like STEEM and somewhat closer to an SMT like @steemhunt

Reward Distribution

I still prefer the simple elegance and the SMT system of STEEM over this. But the Niche owning and moderating could be a good extra income. The overall project will have less of a wild west anarchy feel which is bit of a negative for me. But it's good to have alternatives.

Scaling and Editing Content

They Have Ads and You Are Getting a Cut

Narrative is a lot like Facebook and Reddit had a baby and the company decided to only get a 15% cut and let the community take care of itself.

Token Supply

There are 100 million tokens out there and another 97.5 million will be printed over the course of 30 years.

I Read The Whitepaper and Here is What I Think

You should always dig for the truth and not rely on simple authority. People are still believing that it would be Bitcoin that would change the world because that is the main narrative. You can read the 60 pages here: https://www.narrative.org/assets/documents/narrative-network.pdf and form your opinion. Mine is that Narrative is a second rate STEEM that is worthy of being an early adopter of.

The governance system is fairly decentralized. But the blockchain immutability of STEEM is lacking in Narrative. The chance of ad revenue and Niche ownership are great plus points. Using NEO and not being 100% on blockchain is a serious negative.

Except for GOLOS (Russian) and YOYOW (Mostly Chinese), this is the best decentralized censorship resistance STEEM alternative I've seen. Beta is supposed to come out before the end of the year. If you want early access to owning Niches and explore the platform click here to reserve a spot. You'll hav to wait for few days to get accepted in.

Good Luck!

Okay I've signed up. I've yet to read the white paper, which I'm about to do now.

Concerning the left wing twitter bias, I've actually seen many left wingers get banned on Twitter recently for making innocuous jokes. so I don't necessarily agree with the narrative (huh, pun) that only right wingers are getting the hammer.

It's more of a matter of statistics. The bias is not seen case by case but in overall numbers. Social Media is famous for stupid bans. It's just SJWs getting less of the censorship/ban hammer compared to others.

Looks interesting for sure!
