AMD 2nd Quarter Earnings - Crypto Mining Driver
Yesterday Evening Amd published their earnings for Q2 2017.
AMD showed a strong 2nd quarter beating the analyst estimations.
Computing and graphic segments was up to 51% y/y, due to Ryzen and the high demand of rx480/580
- In this quarter were the first shipments of Epyc (mentioned in the conference call)

In the call there have been some questions about crypto mining as a business driver and as a risk factor.
- AMD noticed that there was a high demand for its graphics. But they won't focus on the miner customer group, as there is no stable long term demand.
- In the mid and near term, AMD will analyse the Crypto Mining potential
