An Example of Amazon (Jeff Bezos) Scamming You - Test It Out Yourself - But Don't Send Money

  • go to amazon.co.uk
  • type in 5ds
(5ds is a very expensive pro camera)
  • you end up here

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B00ZIMBA36/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used

  • "Wow! A real Bargain! Quick let's put this one in our basket Haha!"

  • signing in - expedite to this adres - ... - oops - problems?

  • Back to the site with the ad.

  • "Oh there seems to be a "Read more" - let's click on it to see if we can find something more here"

amazon 2.png

  • It reads now:

"(All orders placed without my agreement are automatically canceled. So ask me before you place an order) The product was only used for advertising purposes in my shop, and the price was so low that it was unpacked - full warranty, full accessories New, never used-Before buying please let me know here: LUKASELENA56 # GMAIL.COM ( Please change the # a @) "

  • "Aha! That's why it didn't work. Maybe it's not 100% legit or so. But who cares, I won't let go of this bargain!"

  • "Let's send an email to [email protected] "

  • If you do so now, you will receive an email from Amazon

  • But hey wait, you are being scammed, because the email is not really from Amazon but looks as 2 droplets of water like an Amazon email - but you are not alarmed at this stage

  • Amazon now asks you to pay to some other bank account, in Italy for example

  • You think it is a bit odd, but hey, things are changing continuously these days and it is hard to keep up with all the new modes of getting things done and to pay for stuff

  • Then you do what you should not have done and make a transaction through your bank account

  • Now your money is gone - forever

  • A few days later you will receive an email from [email protected] , telling you that "there was a little mistake on our behalf with funds sent to someone else, sorry for the delay but things will get allright after next weekend"

  • now you start to feel a bit worried and over time it changes to fear and anger as time passes by and you don't receive your beautiful item and nobody's keeping you updated

  • you feel like you've been scammed by the seller and try to contact Amazon

  • you get a standard email back from Amazon "Sorry but please be aware of phishing emails"

  • you go to the local Police Department to report it

  • you go to your bank

  • 2 months later "Justice Department" sends you a letter: "Sorry but we have other things to do"

  • You report again to Amazon with links and emails and screenshots...

  • Years later you get into crypto and find a site like Steemit

  • You make a post on Steemit trying to warn others, because obviously nothing has changed in all these years:

There are many ads like this on Amazon, for camera gear, computers etc. and they refuse to take action against this, although the scams are very obvious once you know them and the people behind the scams are very easy to identify as well.

Only 1 conclusion you can make from this. Amazon is much aware of this scamming and is HIGHLY LIKELY working together with these scammers.

So this guy is definitely a fraud

Wow. Thanks for the information. Walmart.com and Ebay are better services than Amazon.

Yes, I try to avoid Amzon also, think things like Ebay or local sellers with a real shop are a smarter choice.

I knew Amazon is scamming here in my country and that is why I have left buying anything from Amazon and not just that, Amazon also encourgaes fake product to sell and it is proven fact in my country.

interesting had to take a look at that one

Really, that's bad. Amazon is a bad place to work.

I doubt that Amazon is complicit in scams. They have such a massive platform now I doubt they can keep up with the whole thing. To look for scams https://www.fakespot.com/ is a great site.

Of course they are complicit. If you are reported there's a scam on your platform and you don't react to peoples complaints you are complicit. Especially when it is the same old type that keeps popping up all the time - FOR YEARS. The richest man in the world, who wants to colonize the moon, but he can't even install some AI on his Shit Platform to detect and eliminate scam sellers? :-P

I'll admit them saying there isn't anything they can do isn't right.

But like you said it keeps popping up all the time, which mean a bunch of people likely keep setting them up. Faster than techs can remove them.

I also looked up that listing and I don't see any suspicious postings at this time.

That replace # with @ thing you mentioned was likely a trick to try and sneak around the already implemented anti Spam system.

I just did a random check and found a thing like this in a minute. The guys of Amazon are aware of it. When you are too lazy or to greedy to put some tech guys or AI, or you deliberately make it extremely difficult for customers to report these kind of things, then you are facilitating these kind of scams which makes them scammers too. They should have a clear policy where anybody can easily signal if there is something not OK with a seller. But they don't, because I see it now going on for years. And if I can see it, they can see it too.
