Foreward

Previously known as Storj Coin X (SJCX), Storj has recently migrated to the Ethereum blockchain as an ERC-20 token. It was migrated 1:1 meaning one SJCX equals one STORJ. A conversion app has been created specifically for converting SJCX into STORJ, and it will not be up indefinitely. If you hold SJCX convert them soon because there is no guarantee after the conversion app is taken down.

What is Storj?

Storj is a peer-to-peer cloud storage network. Most cloud storage solutions rely on single companies with large storage providers. Through the magic of blockchain technology, Storj has brought cloud storage to a trustless platform. Currently, when you store your files in the cloud it is controlled by a company. This leaves your files exposed to inherent weaknesses like insider attacks, malware or application flaws that expose data. By using decentralized, distributed cloud storage, data on the network will be resistant to censorship, tampering and unauthorized access.

The people that use Storj are called farmers. They are paid STORJ for the available storage space they offer. This is how using Storj works.

Image

When someone wants to use Storj, the first step is for them to encrypt the file(s). This way they are the only ones who can view said files. Then after the file is encrypted, it is broken into shards. The number of shards varies depending on the contracted agreement, but the larger the file the more shards is my general understanding. Then, multiple copies of each of these shards are sent to different storage locations, wherever Storj members are located. Breaking the files into shards give the end user greater security, privacy, performance and availability.

Proof of retrievability is also offered to customers. To provide knowledge of data availability to the data owner, Storj provides a standard format for issuing and verifying proofs of retrievability via a challenge-response interaction called an audit.

At the moment, Storj has a working product and farmers are being paid. Storj has also recently integrated with FileZilla, which gives it a huge bump in exposure. There are currently some questions that are unanswered so please do thorough research to decide if Storj is a good coin for you!

I will be giving away 75 STORJ tokens. Just leave a working STORJ address in the comments by Friday, August 11th and a winner will be chosen at random.

Week 1 - Gridcoin

What started as a small prize of less than $30 has turned into almost $160!

Congrats bru!

you said to @deepak1990 to have an original post of 500 words yet bru has none
out of the 9 comments he made 6 were comments in your contests,
sorry to tell you but you've been played by someones sybil account.

That's ok. Bru never asked me to follow him. It was just a smartass reply to one of the many people who have asked me to follow them.

Bru engages on my posts, that's enough for me!

i was just pointing to the obvious,
Thought you'd prefer to reward a single entry rather than someone using multiples

And which other accounts are his? Not everybody is dishonest.

no the facts are many have multiple accounts here,
his account is 1 month old has posted 9 comments 6 were in your contests these would be definite factors pointing that he is not an average user and that his account is a sybil.
Edit: There was also @quantson in week 4 and @crrldx in week 5 who match the same one instance might be coincidence three is not

It is a possibility, but it isn't obvious.

The FACTS if you want to really look at them. Bru was one of three people that commented on my Week 1 post, but he did it a day or two too late.

He has had 9 comments, 8 of which were on my posts.

He is following 6 people and I am one of them. All of the other 5 talk about altcoins or price analysis or trading crypto.

That tells me that he is 1) pretty new to crypto in the last couple of months 2) interested in smaller coins and/or 3) just simply doesn't use Steemit all that much.

If you want to see bad, you see bad. I choose to want to see good.

I dont think people would have waited few days for registration just to enter your contest where was it advertised?
im not being negative i am pointing to obvious facts either someone is putting multiple entries or they are your own

A few people joined Steemit specifically for my Vertcoin giveaway. Aren't we supposed to make this place grow? Why are you so negative?

I am a real person from Florida. I made a Steem It account for the GRC giveaway that oregonpop did in week 1 of this series and it wasn't approved in time for the giveaway. This was one of the first coins I invested in after getting started with in crypto, and I saw a link for the giveaway on twitter. OP is then in fact the reason I joined the community. OP sorry you had to defend yourself over sour grapes.

if you are in fact a real account i apologize
3 new accounts out of 6 contests winning and not being active with most of the interaction between the user providing is highly unlikely.
ill check your story now and verify the twitter link.

Edit:
I've checked your story and doesn't add up no twitter link exists so i suggest you reroll contests for all the users you tricked into voting and participating
edit:
ok, enjoy getting your posts nuked,
I'll make sure to add all your accounts in the list of contests ive made to make sure nobody falls for your scam again.

Aw damn, looks like you've got me. Every other account is me but yours.

Wow that was incredible timing. Very appreciative of your series and this serendipitous gift. I'm inspired to write my first post.

I've done as requested above :)
i think Storj will see much growth in the coming months and being built on Ethereum im sure will outdo the competition.

Before they switched, their market cap was over $70 million at one point. I think they can at least get back to that!

I think the value will increase as more people turn in Sjcx tokens, there seems to be an unknown amount still in circulation with Storj's Token Sale Page currently still accepting conversions 1 to 1.

Indeed, could be the tipping point in global storage for all as mentioned by Mike Quindazzi of PWC Multinational Professional Services Network on Twitter

Not to mention the projected growth in the Global Cloud Storage Market of $74 Bill by 2021 up from $23.76 Bill 2016 as researched by Intelligence and Market Research platform marketsandmarkets.com

This leads to a very lucrative market and plenty of space for growth and development.
Storj's development team seem very hardworking and committed since was no easy task to port their token to another platform.

I agree. This space has room for many storage solutions so being a success won't be pinned to just one coin.

yes, so long as each aim to specialize in certain areas rather than targeting the whole storage market as in Golem and iexec who both are types of cloud computing storage but target demographics are different from consumer cloud storage as in Storj

I love to collect coin And most of them are in the top 10 coins. But thanks to your post I'm now considering other coins that you post like vertcoin and gridcoin. I don't have a storj it will be nice if I win

close to 700mb has been used. I am unsure what payment I will get out, but will relaese that once i get it.
Seems as thoug payments are once a month.

I can't believe how many cryptos are out there now. The market seems very saturated.

But at $0.371318 then $100 worth seems a great bet, if just one of these does even half of what bitcoin has.

When you invest in new coins do you store them all on an exchange like coinbase or do you have the hardware wallet for each one?

For now they are all still on Bittrex. I don't know if I will move them since I have less than $1000 on there, it wouldn't really put me out if something happened to it.

Now if I keep investing in a few of these coins I will likely download at least some version of their wallet.

Nice blog. Interesting to see I'm not the only one that is thinking about this. No matter how populair a coin is. People should always do a proper background check. It surprises me how many coins are out there that don't have their basics right. This is quite an interesting website I found: https://www.coincheckup.com This site did all the research for you. It's truly amazing. Go to: https://www.coincheckup.com/coins/Storjcoin X#analysis To check Storjcoin X Indepth analysis.
