Here in this video and related article, I (Joey) take a look at Alf for the Sega Master System.

In this video I talk about Alf for the Sega Master System, an it's older video, I wanted to revisit this video, even though I have a mixed opinion on this old video of mine... I enjoyed talking about this game, and Alf in general... however, even if I liked what I was talking about, I felt as if when I recorded the video my energy level was low.
The video came off as slow, sleepy, and a bit dull... so I have a mixed opinion on this one.
But if anyone is interested, and finds it good enough to watch, here it is to enjoy, and now (in this article) I can discuss the game in text form.
It's worth saying, Alf for the Sega Master System is an interesting game, but with horribly flawed game play.
The graphics are often good, but other times often look crummy, like an image of the moon that looks like a child's drawing, when it's supposed to be an object in space.
With Alf attempting to repair his space ship, after crashing on Earth, and the Alien Task Force chasing him... this game puts the Alf concept to interesting use... however, with horrible hit detection and dying way too easy, with poor control, this game is a mess of horrible game play, and is nearly unplayable, it's not fun.
The game is an interesting artifact from the 8-bit era for no reason other than it`s usage of ALF, the game play is horrible. If you ever play this game, the only reason to do so is for the pure love of ALF.
To make this game a little more playable, there is a cheat.
This cheat gives you almost all items, so you don`t have to trek though this frustrating game to get them.
First, go to the kitchen and get the salami, then jump up and get the cat, then go left to the next screen with three doors and enter the first door, you will be in a bedroom. Then press Pause, hold Up + Left and press 1 + 2.
You will have pretty much everything, except the space suit, you still have to sell the pearl on the low orbiting space station to get it.
Even with the cheat, this game is a mess of bad game play.
