African Child...Stolen Lives...Shackled Continent!!

I watched Melissa Huggins, my favorite TV presenter, storm out of her pink posh room, dragging her pink suitcase and zooming off in her pink car with her wailing mum trotting after her. With my eyes still glued to the screen, I began to imagine the possibility.
Overlooking Melissa's garden is a wide blue sea. The view is breathtaking. Across her lawn was a little booming life. People in suits with briefcases in their hands and serious look on their faces. They certainly are going to somewhere or coming from somewhere. There was no stop to life here.

But overlooking my own garden (it's actually a farm) there was another farm. And if you get pass the farm. There is yet another farm. Another reminder that am drowned in this life which keeps me gagged from reality.
This is reality.
There's no escaping it. For a child who grew in this street, it's as frustrating as in those days we swim in the pond and come up with a leech stuck to our bodies.
Again I began to ponder.

"Melissa what have you seen?"

Have you ever had life smash your head into choices which do not favour you so that you feel a tooth bend at the root?
Had you been wronged yet be the one who apologized else so much will be at stake?
Have you got dreams which burned a hole in your heart but you're afraid to spit it out?
Have you lived on this street where talent is not rewarded?
Have you been on this street where there is so little yet everyone has to survive so you have to keep the gun cocked?
Have you tasted life here where you apply for Medicine but is given theatre arts. You struggle for lectures; you're jam packed in a class of hundred; admist straining to hear the lecturer and mopping your sweating forehead, you're also expected to make A's and yet end up as a food vendor?

Have you been on this street where our blood is used to paint the government houses and our dessicated arms fund the church?
Had you both been beaten and told not to cry?
Have you seen darkness?
I say it again. There's no blaming me or my Cartels for we didn't choose this life. Instead this life choose us.
And there's no reason for us to fail. Because to having lived like this, on this same death-encrusted street and die again is sheer cowardice.
We are already deadlier than death.
If we have lived until now, then we do not die.
