Nairobi , welcome to my city

Nairobi is the capital city of Kenya and the biggest city in the country and one of the fastest growing cities in Africa . it is a cosmopolitan city with several tribes and races who call it home, it is also home to various international organization, Nairobi is called the green city in the sun as it sit a few kilometers from the equator and receives equal amount of sunshine all year round. Nairobi is a masaai name that means a place of cool water as it has several rivers that cut across it as it flows from the upper highland of Kiambu, and Ngong hills, it sits at 1795m (5889 feet) above sea level making one of the highest capital in the world

One of the features that makes the city great is its array of feature, its the only city in the world that has a world class game park, its a major attraction cause its home to the big five(lions, elephant, buffalo, leopard rhino)it has several other attraction from the national museum, snake park, giraffe center, nature walk to big urban park where you can just relax, that is why its called the the safari capital of the world

One attraction that has become favorite is the giraffe manor where you take meals with giraffe, they are at close proximity and you can even touch them

it also has a vibrant night life ans it been a cosmopolitan city with a 24hr economy , their are a lot of awesome hotels and restaurant accommodating different culture from across the world, you wont miss a dining place no matter what part of the world you come from,

the best part is the Kenyans favorite nyama choma which is just well roast meat and is taken with ugali and an assortment of vegetables, you have not visited Nairobi if you haven't eaten nyama choma, the ugali can even be taken with fish (fried or roasted)

but if you love the western fast food you wont miss much cause their is a lot of them , most have settled in like Burger king, KFC, Subway,Pizza hut,Artcaffe, Java house. My favorite is the Nairobi Java House and they have the best coffee in town

Recently the government have been trying to decongest the city and have been building satellite cities that makes the greater metropolitan area, with a blossoming population of about 4 million it was about time that they do that, this has led to major construction happening in the city from modern railway to road to recreation facilities. with that it has attracted more investors who are building bigger structures to accommodate the expansion, their has been an increase of sky scrappers, malls, housing estates and hotels .

One thing that stand out about Nairobi that you will not find anywhere in the world is it matatu culture. Matatu is a term coined for the public transport in kenya, they are know to have all manner of graffiti and artwork on their body and have booming music that is an experience to foreigners and a favorite with the youth who are the majority in this city
