What Can You Buy For 1 SBD In INDIA || @ADollarADay Contest Hosted by @Pennsif
Ever wondered what 1 SBD can buy in other countries! Especially the developing ones. I am currently living in India and we are developing with a faster pace that ever. Since we have been competing with the international markets, a few things are very cheap here. Obviously things which are manufactured locally, they have a very less price. So, today I am taking part in a contest by @pennsif for @adollaraday initiative in which we have to mention a few things which we can buy in 1 SBD.
What Is @ADollarADay?
A Dollar A Day is a charitable giving project founded by @pennsif which is supporting various communities and charities on STEEM doing humanitarian work. Well, the idea is simple, it is based on 1 SBD donations everyday from various people on the blockchain. This is one Project which reminds me of why I am sticking to this amazing platform. What Can You Buy For 1 SBD?
Today is 15 AUG-2018. At 1:25 AM IST, Price of 1 SBD is approximately 1 USD. Because I want to keep the calculations simple, I am taking it as one dollar. Also, the price of 1 USD is 69.96 INR which is approximately 70 INR.

1 SBD = 70 INR
Now, I will give you an idea of what we can buy in India under 70 INR. Well, to be honest, it made me realize that my country is quite cheap and you can do so many things with just 70 bucks. I have chosen only eatables because food is important for survival and it's the most important aspect of anyone's life. Now let's start:
SAMOSA
It is the most favorite Indian Snack especially know for its triangular looks and yummy taste. Baked or fried with a filling of potatoes, peas and nuts in a mixture of Indian Spices. This snack has "n" number of variations and you can even have a chocolate samosa as dessert. You can get a high quality piece for 10 INR. So for 1 SBD, you can buy 7 samosas. An average person eats 2 samosas at most. So, in 1 SBD, you can feed 3 people in full. I had it today, see the picture below:
LADDO
Round balls of happiness. A very special sweet from India for all the sugarpipes. Again, it has so many varients and most popular is this one. It is topped with Pistachio Flake. The orange color comes from the addition of Saffron in the mixture while preparing them. 1 Laddu costs around 20 INR. So you can get around 4 Laddus in 1SBD. Sweet tummy! ;-)
CHIPS & SPICY STICKS
We all know what chips are! In India, there are so many brands to choose from. Most of them are quite good and successful. Also, we have some brands offering corn sticks which are super tasty and easy to eat. The green pack on the left is sticks covered with a powder containing a mixture of spices, it costs 10 INR. Yellow packet on the right is plain salted chips, costs 20 INR. So in 1 SBD, you can get 3 packets of Kurkure and 2 Packets of CHIPS. Amazing, no?
COOKIES
These are normal cumin seed cookies. One packet costs 55 INR which means you can get enough with 1SBD. Normally we have these cookies with Tea.
MIXTURE SNACK
This is my favorite one. Because it's spicy, tangy and a little pinch of sweet. You can have this with your favorite drink or maybe as a party snack! One packet contains peanuts, dried peas and lots of other stuff that is so yummy. No one can have just one spoon of it. It costs 40 INR for 200gms which means you can get around 350gms in 1SBD. Believe me, that is a lot.
So as we can see, we can buy a great range of eatables in India for 1 SBD. It can feed multiple people at one time and in the next part of this contest, I will show you what kind of a meal we can buy for 1 SBD or maybe some other tangible item. Stay tuned!

Wonderful post - very well presented. Having read this - I was just thinking two things:
How may SBDs it might cost to past a 4 pack of Laddo's from India to UK!!! Look very nice.
What potential this project has to change lives in the Global South.
Haha! Thank you so much @cryptocurator.
